Never worked for them, but was offered a job in the warehouse when I was 17, during my "I'm going to quit education" phase. Didn't take them up on it. Then had an interview for trainee manager just before I decided on the police. Not surprised I didn't get it, the guy interviewing me was an idiot. He kept answering the phone half way through my answers to the questions, and just seemed uninterested in it all. Anyway, all worked out in the end, I don't think I could make me hobby my job. |

I tried very hard to get an accounting job at head office - travelled up to Nottingham from the Isle of Wight for interview on the train, stayed over night for my one and only visit to Warhammer World (sadly museum was closed for refurbishing) and bought my Bugman's tankard, but since the place was either closed or deserted while I was there I found it all a bit disappointing - looking forward to the AB bash to prove me wrong about the place. Didn't get the job though, not 'creative' enough - odd really, I'm an accountant, most of us aren't that type of person - else we wouldn't be accountants, so don't know what they really wanted from me, I thought it had gone really well. Was quite disappointed in interview to be told that not a single member of the finance team actually was involved in the hobby, not a one. ![]() I do always keep my eye out though, it would still be a dream job to go back there as Finance Manager or something one day. Brambleten - they do recruit, keep an eye on their website. The roles in the head office don't come up often, but they do occasionally. |

Yep I work along side Dave in GW Edinbrugh back in 2008. It was a great job & enjoy going ever time, it brought a lot of life back in to the hobby for me (old local GW was a bit rubbish on gaming & painting side, made it jaded, however my current local store brought a lot of new life & then working in GW Edinbrugh as well). Would not mind working for the company once again There where low point, but mainly high point & the banter with the gamer on the Sat/Sun.Also yes those where "legendary" time where they not IP Edited by Insane Psychopath, 5 Feb 2010, 02:21 PM.

HMD. The legend that is Rich Packer was our regional/area manager when I was in Bath store!! Gets around a bit then! Our store used to be so great in Bath, especially when it became a bunker, but has moved again so there is virtually no gaming during the day unless you want an intro game and only campaign games on a Tuesday night. No wonder all the vets stopped going there and set up an independant gaming club! |

Bath GW was the only high point of being stuck in Bath for two days a few years back. I'd have loved to have gamed in there compared to the cramped GWs we have around us. |

Well the soul of that place has been ripped out and replaced with a shop. Its no longer a hobby store, just a place to indoctrinate new purchasers. And this isnt me being a cynical old(ish) man. Wish it werent that way but it is. |

Some GWs are still good. Leeds GW has decent staff members, and the regulars on a Thursday night are nice people too. I don't go there often, but when I do, its a nice atmosphere (compared to Wakefield anyway). Obviously, I'm a Leeds lad. Cheers, DK |

I have never worked for them, but that isn't that difficult in Belgium. Their are only 3 gw stores in this country. I have been to 2 (Brussel and Antwerp). The one in Antwerp has an English men that is very pushy to buy stuff, both to me and my girl. The one in Brussel (not meant to be unrespectful) was a kinder garden. |

Ive been to GW bath, it is hands down the best GW ive ever been to. It was massive. I went there just after the water effect stuff came out, and accidentally left a fingerprint in a pool that had been poured the night before... ![]() GW Boro is okay, there is one staff member there (Richard) who has been there a long time, i get on with him. The manager treats me like a bit of an idiot for weathering my tanks and infantry (which have perfectly good colour schemes before weathering apparently...) |

I think the AB would be a less colourful place without Lukas. I'm sure between El D and myself though that we could insert a more deserving candidate. |

Oh I can think of a couple, myself. . . I hear you on the weathered tanks thing, Dave. I used to get a lot of stick for mine, and they weren't half as bad as yours. Mind you, I've yet to take my Blood Angels into a GW store. I wonder what they'd say to them. Dave out. |
