Hello everyone. Just want to start a new topic because i'm new lol. But there is another reason for this. For a long time i have been wondering which is the best close combat space marine army. period.

I my self have got a black templars army and love them. there really easy to use and make a very effective army. But i really want to make a change. The space pups are out with a shine new codex and are really good? so poeple say. But i have faced two space wolf armys with my mech eldar army and won both games.

i want to change my black templar army. converting them to some other chapter maybe. Does anyone have any ideas. If so what are the inns and outs. good and bad points of c/c sm armys. looking forward to read what ya have to say.

here are a few i was thinking about

death / raven wing
blood angles
raven guard
white scares
gray knights
and of course.................. the pups.

as you can see. I NEED HELP.

Blood angels are one of the most close combat related armies.

Deathwing has a lot of terminators, so can go both ways. Shooting and close combat.

Raven wing is a fast moving force, a little like the white scars. I personally think they are more for the hit and run actions, so with shooting.

Space Wolves... I don't know about the new codex, but these are also close combat orientated.

Grey Knights (pure) are always a very small force. Excel at everything, but are very easily overwhelmed.. So best used with other troops.
