I saw this today, and just looked to see if someone had posted it up yet :p They blatantly wanted to show the basilisk off (Why would a hellhound be behind artillery in a tank column?) Sounds good actually i hope they release the marbo figure with the stuff ive been waitin' to darn long already. J5 |

I have to bring forth a voice of Dooooooooooooooooooom. Love the idea of the book. Hate the bassie! what a cop out. an ideal oportunity to upgrade the bassilisk and still we get that SO unrealistic (yes I am aware of the irony ) bloody gun shield!!!! COME ON ! is this the best we can do? Now of course I may be jumping the gun a little (get it? .....No? .....oh suit yourselves) and this is only one photo and could be a prototype and all that..... But I dont have a warm fuzzy feeling over this. I hope to be proved wrong!

Here's hoping we'll see the new stormies. I think that the new releases will probably be Blood Angels and the new Bassie kits, no idea about the Orks. There is however a rumour that we may well see a second marine codex being released around the same time. |

Got to agree with Andy, the bassy shield is horrendous and easily replaced, why stick with it? |

I have no desire to get more with Basilisks with curved gun shields - more FW for me. I just hope that it comes with an enclosed crew compartment. Wasn't the rumour it'll be mulit kit with some other tanks? Maybe that will give us more options. |

Funny this came up as i was talking to a trusted store manageer earlier this morning and he mention some ig tank releases. I assume this is what he was on about. Presumably they are swapping the tank chassis parts due better designs that use less plastic, which would mean the profit margin for gw goes up. Crafty blighters. Same will probably be true for the packaging. I doubt they will update the main gun for a while though as there is little reason due their recent release. Also, they may be swapping the chassis as the molds may be a little run down. The gun molds should however be fine due to not being sold or used as much. Of course this could all be rubbish as im just guessing and presuming some things. However, he also he told me about this book and was saying how it is unlike the missions you have in the rule book. These missions are instead far more scenario based and often feature against the odds style mission like featured in films and books. Sounds awfully good. Interestingly, but slightly unrelatedly, he also mention that there might well be a new edition of warhammer fantasy battle within a few years. |

I do like the battle missions idea, however as far as the bassie goes the main gun is most definitely not recent, by anyones definition of recent. i was 5 when that thing was designed. And im nearly 20 now. As far as the new chimera chassis goes, your probably right, however it will make it bloody hard to convert them the way i do if they dont have wheels. Coming at it from an engineering perspective i think that the moulds wouldnt be fine, purely because moulding techniques have improved so much in the last 15 years, new moulds would be more compact, work better and produce less warped final sprues. Whatever the reason they are still just a bit lame for not updating it... |

I did think that the moulds might not have aged much. Still it was a nice theory i thought. Also that incredible to think that that gun is as old as me :s Also wolvie I had forgotten about it but he did mention it for relaese, not sure how long away but I certainly think its in the pipeline. Personally im waitong on that daemon prince kit thats been waiting for ages now. |

What was so badly wrong with the old chimeras anyway except the turret and side guns? Ive just built one (well part) and they must have re cut the moulds recently too, because all the details were v crisp and there were 0% issues, there were barely even any mouldlines... Anyway, the new kit will be basically the same shape anyway, otherwise FW will have to replace rather a lot of conversion kits... |

i guessed they would be similar, in which case that could be an old basilisk sprue ontop of the new chassis, wouldnt surprise me. I might buy a hellhound and a bassie on monday and find out...

Any rumours on the Orks? We could really do with new buggies and wartracks. Most likely I suspect plastic Dreads/Kans or even megaarmoured nobs. Personally Flash Gits would be a dream come true, but they already missed that boat with the Nobz boxes (a few guns and accessories would have done it) and they've always been flaky on 'Ard Boys (add some shoulder pads like they're in an 80s band and call them tougher... er ok) so I doubt it will be them. If they've got any sense they'd expand on the Black Reach Deffkoptas too, dead easy to turn into a cool kit - and the old metal ones do suck, badly. |
