For post-apocalyptic stuff, trawl through Deserter's log. He's done a lot of great post-apoc stuff, I think he's even designing his own game system around it...

There are a number of great scout conversions (awesome reposing) in This log

As for high tech, do you mean modern-looking, retro sci-fi looking, human/tau hybrid or what?

I've been working on some scouts for my IG army. I found some cool stuff from a company called Eureka.

Here is one of there austrailian special forces ATV with some minor conversions. I also picked up a dirt bike, and that is working well so far, but alas I have no pics yet of that. The only down side is that is seems more true 28mm scale Vs. heroic 28mm for 40K scale. Not sure if this helps, but I hope it did....
