It says in the article that they were spare 3-ups. So I wouldn't think they will be a plastic kit for release. |

Think the article mentioned they were 3-ups from the space wolf design process. To be fair there are probably many potential models made, designed etc that the public never know about. This is the quote from the caption under a picture containing one of the above models. "These towering Space Wolves statues were the handiwork of Mark Harrison, built using Space Wolf 'three-ups' - sometimes it's handy working in the Studio!" |

Warseer is discussing whether they are kits or not: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4073051#post4073051 |

The statues in the picture with that quote are more kit bashed looking. And SW looking. These two are very generic marine and are not poses for which a three up would be required. Plus look where the head is. Obvious signs of plastic kit construction (same with base). I don't see three ups as hollow either. No, I'm totally convinced we'll see these kits at some point. |

would have to agree its pointing towards plastic kits, the one on the right looks like its plastic, and they proportions are wrong for a 3up, not to mention the fact that the models are actually larger than 3up... More pictures (found from trawling the other sites thread) ![]() Mould lines anyone? ![]() The edge of the leg looks like its been cast from a steel mould, note how there are no undercuts, rivets pointing forwards as it were... GW love this hiding in plain sight lark dont they... Edited by Dave38x, 28 Oct 2009, 01:52 PM.

Plus if you look at them, there are mold lines on them, I reckon they'll be out soon. |

Even 3-ups have mouldlines.... they are also made in 2 piece moulds. And they are the right size for 3 ups, I saw a 3-up mould at GD once, and the parts were about this size. And 3-ups are also multi part kits. I mean yes, they could be new models on the way, but I am not convinced really. |

The one thing that makes me think that these are three ups and not a new scenery kit is the amount of detail on them. Its horrifically low. I mean yea the detail is fine when it is a third of the size but this level of detail is terrible for a large statue. |

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that GW would make this just for themselves, but I hope they do release it. I probably wouldn't get one but I know Digits would snap them up, as would quite a lot of you guys. |

smoke an mirrors claim and counterclaim! I badgered mark Jones (GW scenery guru) about the lack o availability of the big marines. He told me that a whole load were done some while back and that they had 'lost' the mould!!! the suggestion being that these were in resin. This discussion has been had at 'the other place' where it was suggested that despite its hollow looking appearance the ones above are still resin. The general concesus appears to be No. They ain't visible by sattelite let alone on the horizon. However, given the increasing hiding in plain sight that appears to be taking place of late , I live in hope. so make a nuissance of yourselves. lobby for....Nay DEMAND that GW release big marines. You know it makes sense |

Even if they are plastic GW occasionally makes plastic scenery moulds that never gets released. This happened with the Black Templars chapter keep kit; I remember a rogue sprue turning up on ebay. So we'll have to wait and see. |
