Well I have been feeling very lonely lately, as my only gaming friend in town told me to "f*** off" (Don't know why seriously...)

The 3 Options I have left is 1:
A) Play a game every half year
B) Get a friend to play Warriors of Chaos (Probaply not going to happen)
C) Force my sister to start playing.

Plan C worked (Actually!) she got intrested in the Bretonnia figures, and I said that she could wish her some for x-mas.

Now, I have to ask, is Bretonnia an easy force to start playing with? I have no problems with teaching her how to play, let her play Skavens and se how it turns out.

Please Reply over

God speed

Bretonnia is rather easy to play. You have knights, they charge hard. They have their difficulties to play, but that is with every force.

To learn to play: no magic!

Hopefully everything will get better :)

I solved my occasional no gamer friend situation by getting my girlfriend into it.

Bretonnians are a good army to start I reckon. Big unit of knights, charge down everything that they want, hard as hell to kill. Have support from their peasents who hurl strange wooden things from curved wooden things with string.... I think thats floss for us ogres to get the chewy bits out of our teeth.... can't say for sure..

Not a bad army to start and one that will have more success than the more tricky ones, which is good especially when learning. Remember to let her win so she doesnt get fed up ;)

Try working on your friends and see if there is a local club near you (probably tried that) or put a notice in a large bookstore (what my mate did) gamers often go in there to buy the novels and someone might spot it. Get in touch, et voila, more gamers. Hell I didn't know Gav (Kayvaan) collected anything till his flatmate did the introducing of geek to geek.... nice girl that she is.

Bretonnians are very good and fun. Especially the Green Knight.

Thats right, nothing says 'Wrecking Ball' in the Brettonian list quite like the Green Knigit (Except maybe Louen)

The new rules kinda nerf Cavalry a little bit, but it all adds to the fun of playing, makes you think tactically..
And it also lets you fight with 8 of your 9 knights when in lance formation!

Well the lance formation is still pretty strong in the new edition. The problem is, the infantry units are bigger, which is an uphill struggle for the smaller cavalry units. If you hit with two cavalry units, the tale can be completely different.

We must just accept that the new edition is very infantry based, while last was a fan of cavalry.

Brettonians have heavy armor and barded steeds, that makes it 3+ ? and then they get the shields 'Ward' save.

As far as I know, that is still 2+. The shield still confers a +1 on the armor save. The parry bonus is with a hand weapon and shield, on foot...

Thread necromancy (Curse me)

Novogrod is correct.

Heavy Armour + Shield is 4+

Than barded steeds +2.

+2 Save for Brett knights.

Speaking of Bretonnia when are they going to get a codex update?

As an Ex-Bret player (first fantasy army) I can shed some light.

Brets (I believe) maybe the next fantasy army on getting a new book. Fantasy has a better track record than 40K in updating the oldest codex, handy mostly because they don't have a space marine codex for every second book. There is no evidence though, just speculation.

As for how do you play them? The basics are very simple, but 8th Edition has hit knights hard. I suppose a unit of 15 has 4 ranks but one dead knight means 1 less rank. Steadfast does destroy knights who previously needed the charge to win combat.
