So far tonight in the arse end of nowhere, France, I am currently stood outside and have seen a bunch of shooting stars, one huge comet with a massive tail moving slowly and one smaller, faster comet and a host of other moving stuff way up in the sky. Anyone else seeing this/know of it? |

I know nothing of this, and spent the last three nights stood in fields and didn't see anything. I hope it isn't the nids, do we need to blow the channel tunnel just in case! |

NASA says the Orionid (nothing to do with tyranid) shower peaks on the 21st: NASA Science News for October 19, 2009 Caused by debris from Halley's Comet, the 2009 Orionid meteor shower peaks on Wednesday, Oct. 21st, and forecasters say it could be an unusually good show. FULL STORY at http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2009/19oct_orionids.htm?list202324 Check out our RSS feed at http://science.nasa.gov/rss.xml! Or it could be nothing to do with that. If you're not used to it the normal number of shooting stars on a clear night somewhere with really dark skies (eg. the arse end of France?) can be surprising. Did they come from the direction of Orion? |

Well France is a good place to see shooting stars, it has something to do with the light polution in other places with more people around you. I have their many summers and you can always count them. So if they are invading, then they are doing it for at least 5 years in a row

Explode? Smut? What on earth are you watching? On second thought, don't. I think I'm worried for your family. |
