OK. Spoken with Andy. He's going to open up the directory for us. I'll post up a proper intro for it tonight....

Now, go back to resolving your compo discussions!

Well, it would be reasonable to start at the begining of the month, but that would meen that this month has no competition... oh wait it's almost at the end.
So who's for the next month?

I am. I have a plan. A good one. One that I might actually be able to achieve, no less. So november the first, then?

going back to digits suggestion of the tutoring, me and dave were just talking about this on MSN, wouldnt it be a good idea to do tutoring for everything?

marcine and other terrain guys could do terrain
doghouse etc sculpting
HMD, SC, rictus, tinners etc Plasticard work/scratch building
etc

gives something back to the forum and builds up a nice library of information.

With the comps themselves a single mini seems to be the way to go, i always fail at them but if i can submit a mini that im currently working on anyway instead of a one off i think i might actually be able to pull it off :)

I believe this will be the eventual goal of the section, though as it's very much in it's infancy then we are taking care not to overload ourselves. Right now we are keeping it simple by limiting it to painting. If that proves popular and if there proves to be a demand then naturally we will begin to encompass other aspects of the hobby.

As to the painting competition, next month sounds great. I'm in.

I think Ricky makes a good point that, for the immediate future, we should stick to dealing with painting as that is something that everyone not called Matt does on a semi-regular basis. Its also the sort of thing that everyone has the materials for, unlike having multiple sculpting tools, steel rules, engineering squares, junior hacksaws, hot glue guns. . . I think I've made my point. Its accessible to all, and would be great for a trial run of the concept.

My name is already in the Masterclass introduction as one of the mentors for terrain projects. I won't help you with painting miniature but if anyone has trouble with terrain... I probably can help.

I see that some of you want to stick with miniature painting aspect of Masterclass section for now. I think that even in this early stage of this project I can menage the Terrain part on my own. So you don't have to worry about overloading other mentors with terrain questions and have them focused on miniature painting.

To be honest I'm sure that I won't be swamped with people needing help at first (if ever).

Am I right in thinking though Marce that you also have experience in large scale vehicles. I find it hard to keep track of what everyone does but I'm sure you have done some pretty impressive Ork builds? Don't think you are safe for when I come knocking, you will be unable to refuse...

You wouldn't be on the list of initial mentors if you were of little to no use fella. You'll be busy before long I reckon.

Hmmm, would a warhound titan count as a mini?

If so what I will do is push ahead to try and finish my scratch built titan.

As soon as I have managed to do this and get it fully built I will be a guine pig (provided nobody else has beaten me to it), and I will see how it turns out. But for now i will spend my time finishing off my titan.

I think Fiore, without wishing to rain on your parade that to start with something smaller would be of benefit to not only yourself but also whichever person was assigned to you...

ARGHHHHH, Rain

Jokes aside however that is a very good point. In which case I think I may give my grey knight terminator with an incinerator a go.

HEHEHE nice choice of "mini" Fiore. I must agree with Antipope, it could be too much for the first run with Masterclasses. But there are some people on this forum who made pretty sweet Warhounds so I'm sure you find someone who could help you.

Antipope - well I'm not saing I'm exelent with vehicles but if there is a need I can help. As for the Ork stuff, yeah I did some!
And I'm not easly scared by your threats! Bring your exacto knife and I try to help with any terrain you can throw at me!!! ;)

Well, missed all of this due, to a 13 hour night shift. The masterclass idea seems to be a good one, though I would perhaps suggest that MSN is made use of as sometimes you need to ask a series of stupid questions (I know I do!).
As for the competition, going back to basics with a single mini sounds good to me, I might actually enter.

Marovian Skype might be better as stupid questions are easier understood and answer via voice
