Finally got hold of a vice and a hacksaw O.o and gree stuff! Only my own incompetance and inexperience can stop me now!

Any general tips when messing with metal models?

take it slow, be prepared to use a lot of GS and bad language, when using greenstuff work in layers, so fill out your basic shape, let that cure and then use a second layer to add detail, lube your tools with vaseline when using gs and thats it on the sculpting front.

as far as conversion itself goes, use lots of pins to hold the model together, keep the amount of superglue down etc.

Yeah, had never used GS before and I found it diffcult to sculpt with so that vaseline advice will be most helpful I imagine.
If I cut off my fingers I WILL post pictures o.o

Still need to learn how to pin >_< keep missing arranged lessons.

also don't use hot glue unless it's a last resort.

Too much Caffeine gives me flash headaches so painful and intense that make me scream aloud. o.O
As for hot glue...I learnt my lesson in secondary school.

It was a pretty quick lesson...'wow...that smells awful... HOLY [well, someone needs a cool off period] IT BURNS!!!!' incidently due to a supreme lack of sleep mingled with a fanatic desire to complete the construction oif my first drop pod...I split just about an entire lot of citadel superglue on myself the other day...it burnt a hole clean through my shirt in about 5 seconds...but..the resulting brittle and hard cloth fragments look like something I may use in future and at least it didn't burn my chest too badly..heh..not as badly as when I got acetone nail polish remover on my ear ^_^
Ooo! My grandfather gave me an old set of crafting knives too. I have already cut myself..also cut myself with that hacksaw..and got my skin pinched pretty sevrely by the vice handle...good portion of green stuff solidfied on my desk too........
I'm almost afraid to buy anything else.

Actually now I think about it it was the acetone free nail polish remover, because I was stripping a plastic model O.o
And I don't know...try it? o.o

Yeah...but have you ever got nail polish remover on your skin? I was only assuming it was the acetone here....

And no..not usually..it's just..when it comes to models...it's weird >_> I actually cut myself on a store built model the other week..it was a nurgle wagon or something..had a spike on it O.o Far from being concerned that I'd sue, the staff member who'd built it was elated and claimed me as it's first 'kill' >_<

Well have hot chocolate then, but a hot drink is required every so often. You must have hands with sausage fingers, I cut myself using tools and crap maybe twice a year...
