"Souped up" now = 2x scything talons and adrenal gland does it? That was just me not being able to roll dice.. 1 hit with 11 attacks is pretty poor, sherminators should have been smited. Nids have been good this ed, but they really suffer against tanks now until something big can go and hit them.. If only venom cannons were allowed to do more than glance, that would solve it instantly! |

all fexes are souped up in my opinion, as they seem to need to be to stand a chance of getting into your list

aye, although fexes became a tad faster with the run rule... still remember fondly flipping a fankids land raider with a fex in one turn, got 2 vehicle destroyed and a vehicle explodes results from one round of CC

I'm looking forward to new models and I'm hoping that they do something good with gaunts. The No Retreat rules really hurt them and make reinforcing them counter-productive, so I hope there's something to bring them more into line with 5th edition troops cost-effectiveness. Currently they seem most effective as mobile cover that can shoot a bit, which is weird. I expect shooty monstrous creatures (ie. those multiple devourers which massacre infantry) to get a bit more expensive, though I would like some useful anti-tank. It's lots of fun flipping vehicles over in CC but not very practical much of the time. |

I wonder if tha Malanthorpe is going to be a replacement to the zoanthorpe or just a bigger brother? |

Well with the current history in place for it at the moment, it's not going to be the replacement for the Zoanthrope, and I personally wouldn't class it as it's 'bigger brother'. If indeed it makes an appearance, it'll be an alternative HQ choice with an interesting set of special rules, much like it is currently. |

would agree with you there grizz, the malanthrope has a completely different battlefield role, the only similarity is that it floats... |

My friends making a new CC based 'nid army....unfortunately MY almost all CC Templar army, just at first glance, looks like it's going to get raped, to quote our most esteemed Neo I need 'guns...lots of guns...'. But none are to be had! Black Templars need like...snipers and destructor squads >_> Just hope my crusader gets here in time. |

lol, I thought you loved 'Nids? You don't know jack about them... The Zoanthrope is only similar to the Malanthrop in that it floats and has 'thrope' in it's name. It's a completely different creature in terms of it's rules and fluff. |

I'm suprised GW are doing a new non-Imperial codex at all! Standard codex rotation for GW is: Smurfs Smurfs Differently coloured Smurfs Different Imperial Codex Smurfs Different Imperial Codex Something else Smurfs |

I'm still a fan of the criminally overpriced gaunt with a fleshborer. 5 points each lets you field a whole lot to contest objectives! I'm just looking toward when they actually make the Warrior useful...as a HQ elite, troop, fast and heavy choice! |

Gaunts with fleshborers are (overpriced at) 6 points. Get back to that codex Oldgrue... I actually sent Jervis Johnson a letter with suggestions about the next niddex a couple of months back. He replied to say it was finished already! |
