In a couple weeks time, I will be visiting Scotland. I can't say exactly where (security and whatnot) but it's close to Glasgow. I'm interested in your recommendations on what to see/do/visit/eat etc.

Glasgow? Hmmm, M&D's themepark is nearby, thats alright for a day. Not quite Alton Towers, mind. If you fancy a bit of a drive, Blairdrummond Safari park is well worth a visit, as is Stirling Castle. Closer to home, the Kelvingrove museum is really good, as is the Science Centre. The Transport Museum should be avoided as it is being moved to another location. Hope this helps.

Glasgow is great for this!

As for eating you have to have battered haggis, a deep fried pizza, white pudding and a bridie. Preferably mince and onion.

All washed down with lashings of Irn Bru, but only from glass bottles.

I wish I was home right now. :(

Mince and onion bridie? What is this, Yorkshire! We put steak in our bridies, sir!

Seems somewhat appropriate.

Very helpful indeed. Thank you.

Great Gonzo--none of that made any sense to me, but it is all duly noted and will be sampled if at all possible. Is all of that 1 meal, or should it be several?

If you've got the time to pop into Edinburgh for a meal, The Witchery by the Castle is a fantastic scottish restaurant. The James Thompson experience, in which you get haggis, sirloin steak and cheese/dessert for £30 is a fantastic offer.

Ok, sounds good! I'll have to see if I can spare a day to go there and look around.

*puts on defensive, debunking stereotypes hat*

Nope, not the case unless you get stinking drunk and start squaring up to people for no reason. Or you leave the safety of the city centre.

*Takes hat off again*

True. Glasgow has the added benefit of not being in Englandshire.

Adn the benefit of having hospitals which have doctors who are highly trained in treating knife wounds.
