I like them based on the factthat they are "in-line" with other Imperial Guard Aquilas. More boxy than the SM ones. |

Absolute CRAP! Never thought I'd say that but bloody hell, it's awful! If they're going to do alternate heads, at least give us alternate hats / helmets and the stowage is pitiful! |

Alright, lets try this a different way: While I was working for GW in Glen Burnie MD Waaay back before the turn of the century we put in a new inventory system that let us track the bits we churned out. For some reason GW decided to cut out their bitz, and are slowly dipping back into something they had the technology to support a much larger volume of a decade ago. In light of the expansion of bitz, yes this is nice. We're finally getting back a small segment of what we could do through the extremely large catalogue that there's no technological or infrastructure reason should not have been maintained. I think its nifty that they're releasing more stuff. I sincerely wish it was for my steel legion but I digress. The quality of product simply isn't up to snuff. As consumers this should not be viewed as a good thing. Its like getting offers for dialup internet services claiming to be modern and competitive. In all, a nice effort that fell short of the mark. The Stowage does not compete with several of their historicals competitors at half the price, and is repeats of plastic from the older IG sprues. The Aguilas are similarly overpriced. The guard crew I can pass off as just being a bad paintjob. Yet the heads are sincerely worse than the Dark Eldar product line. As a consumer I don't feel the need to support a poor quality release from GW especially when we've seen the very nice (Space Hulk, Space Wolves) product they have just offered. I also don't approve of applauding a child for performing their household chores or rewarding the mundane in general. |

I bought the heads, recieved them today - they are a LOT better than they look on that god awful picture, some on par with the mentioned masters of the chapter set. They've got character, most of them look like vets, some of them look like bastards, but they're good sculpts, and those pictures should really be re-taken. I'll get some up as soon as i can be asked (tomorrow). Tepok |
