Hey guys, inspired by Ricky's mini rant on elotsips renegade militia thread, i thought i'd see what other anoying misspellings/misspronunciations there are out there.

First three from me:

Bloodpack instead of Blood Pact. As ricky says, sounds like an aweful hip hop group.
Pronouncing Lascannon Layzcannon, not Lazcannon. If it was meant to be pronounced the other way they would have put a y in the name.
Chimera pronounced with a 'CH' sound not a 'C' sound. Seriously.

And finally....

TRYANIDS!

If they were pronounced like that they would have been spelt like that :P

Any others guys?

Emporer instead of Emperor is a classic. I so believe Chimera is pronounced more like Khi-meera though ;)

I have a habit of jokingly referring to Cadians as Canadians mostly to wind a mate up.

Arbites is one of my favourites. And Adeptus. For a start, Arbites has two sylables, not one, and should roll of the tongue as Ar-beetes. And Adeptus should be pronounce with an 'ou' sound, not an 'o'.

Oh, and Tau. I once had a Sunday beginers kid who pronounced it Tay. Yes, like the river.

Dave out.

How do you even say that with just one sylable

I meant discernable sylables. If you say it as Ar-bites, it melds into one into sound.

Tyranids being pronounced is Tie-ranids. It's pronounced Ti-ranids. If you wan't to argue that one check out the ingame tut in Fire Warrior or Dawn of War 2.

Yeah, Bloodpack really annoys me. Theres been a spate of 'Khrone' recently as well.

Oh, man. Let's see...

Chimera. Kai-mera. Not chai-mera, and most certainly not chim-era.

Las-whatever. Laz. Not layz.

Sentinels. You wouldn't think it, but just yesterday somebody was saying Centennials. Yeah.

Astartes. As-tar-tes. Just like it's spelled. No, it's not pronounced Ass-tarts. That would be silly, and rather suspect.

Tau. Simple, no? It's sure not tay-oo.

Let's not even start on Tzeench. I mean, really.

You could try spelling it right as in this thread such a comment could easily be interpreted in an ironic fashion Raimo.

How do you pronounce it anyway. Is the T silent?

*facepalm*

Well, it's a good thing we have no capacity for irony, then, isn't it?

For the record, I say it Zeench.

I thought that's how you said it. As a very wee lad I used to pronounce the T in it but then I also used to pronounce the P in Pterodactyl.
