£156 for Deathwing! Christ on a small clown bike thats ridiculous! Some people are going to make a killing with the renewed interest in Hulk. |

You have to wonder if the real reason for this re-release is an unannounced secret room in Lenton full of original box sets of Space Hulk, Deathwing, etc... ![]() |

Well, I just gave in and ordered one. It's rather more than I was ready to pay but the minis are better than I was expecting too. At least shipping is free. The stealers will be an infiltration force for my apoc nids, and the angels will fit into my Grand Armee of the Imperium I suppose. Go go plastic broodlord! I think the limited strategy has definitely created a bit of a feeding frenzy (I still reckon that all the secrecy was rather unhelpful though). Having to contract out the card bits to someone else may explain this, as they presumably ordered a fixed amount. Brimstone suggested that the original plan was plastic tiles but it was infeasible. I wonder how they estimated the optimal number to produce, and if they'll run out before release date. If there are loads left for the indies to sell at X percent off on the 5th then I guess I got caught out, but c'est la vie. |

Well It is indeed limited because indies can ONLY order 15 copies per store - so if someone has a traditional store & online one then he can order only 30 copies of Space Hulk. They will be able to order more past the release date if there will be anything left. Only exception are stores that work almost like GW ones (ie. keep high standards of customer service & have certain monthly cash flow in GW products - those indies are called Premium ones) they can order 40 copies per store. I've orderd mine too at my local though - that limited run thing works pretty good I suppose

I have nearly managed to get a load of grey knight terminators from a frien. If i manage to get his price down and i dont buy a gw set then i will probably be converting an awsome grey knights team.

Well my (Premium) indie only ordered 10 but I've already put my name down for one, which I probably wouldn't've done had the set not been limited edition. But it all looks to good to pass up. Nice one GW! |

The limited edition angle is a good idea, because people like me have been forced to buy it. I would have waited otherwise for a while and perhaps got it in the future instead of some other bits. Now it's limited edition, I've skinted myself to buy it as well as the other things I want. Of course, in the long term GW may end up selling less, but in the short term it works better. |

I got myself 2, one set of models for space hulk and a sweet looking set of terminators for my blood angels. O and after a quick count the terminator captain with storm bolter and power sword has 43!!! blood angel symbols/blood drops/chalice symbols on him!! Edited by Foxman, 21 Aug 2009, 05:46 AM.

I managed to find a place where I could download that Space Hulk computer game that the Teardown guys did. I was practicing my genestealer killing last night. And yes, Marovian, I'm in the same situation with you about this whole "limited run/edition" nonsense. If it turns out to be true, I'll have missed out on a board game I've desperately wanted for many years. I have a choice, but the nature of the beast that is this hobby makes me want to say, I didn't have much of a choice. Perhaps in a sign of things to come, I was actually perusing El D's excellent red tutorial and making notes of the paints I need to acquire...does this mean I may finally shake off my hobby stigma? Apparently indies are being limited to 15 copies for the first week only with stocks lasting up untill at least christmas. After that first week they can order more. Sounds like there might be a bit of hype to all this after all. |
