shame they didn't put as much effort into the 'Russ.......
i think its an effort/reward thing. they put effort into the limited release of Space Hulk so that they will sell out in days, and they be able to bring it out again in another decade. however, the russ is a standard fix in most Guard armies, and is a base for coversions for orks, so they can afford to not put as much effort in, as people will still buy them, just not all at once

I've been planning something like this for ages now and what I'll probably do is make all the floor sections and cast them with dentist's plaster. I've got the walls planned along with doors that open and shut built in but the main problem at the moment is finding the time to get started.
I won't be starting mine till january but once underway it'll only take a couple of weeks to get done.
Yea, i had been planning mine for a while now, pretty much since i heard of it just after getting into the hobby four years ago. Still cant wait till january then. And i will be trying to start mine when i get back from holiday at the start of september.

Handled the actual sprues today. Had to take them into the toilet alone. They are a superb quality, and superb detail. There are tiny little details that make it suberb, like an auspex built into a powerfist, or the plastic terminator librarian which has MORE detail than the metal one! Its insane! and its not expensive at all. for 11 terminators and a librarian bought seperately, you're looking at £60 at least. And they'd have less detail and be much less awesome. The broodlord is also huge. As big as the metal one if not slightly bigger. A definite must have.

I think that it is a nice touch that they added some bags for the counters.

However i think that the colour scheme used for the model is far too bright, should be darker like me attched pic.

Very nice mock up there fiore. If it's red, I can paint it. ;)

Lol you sure can paint red. Still its quite surprising the difference if you compare my photoshopped and theirs, mine makes theirs seem way way too whitewashed and pale.

Im also confident of painting red after doing some Khorne Beserkers, so my BA's will be the same red - a rich dark one rather than that bright one GW use.

Cannot wait to get hold of this, even broke out the 1st edition set I have and tought the mrs how to play. She even enjoyed it!!

Preordered last night.

Price is a little high but justified based on the quality of the models I think.

Hopefully will be a cool game to play in a short time - not much set up time or complex rules.

Looking forward to the 5th!

I haven't touched a model or brush in about 6 months...and I'm honestly not sure if it's been longer than that...

I pre-ordered mine as soon as I saw it was up. :$ Hopefully this will get me stuck into the hobby again.

I've always wanted to play space hulk but simply did not have the energy to finish my mini-space hulk using epic minis or to create my own with 28mm, and purchasing an old set off of ebay I just couldn't justify. And thank the Emperor they used Blood Angels, my favorite chapter! The terminators are amazing.

Here's hoping September 5th reinvigorates my modeling mojo!

Well today i went into my local games workshop in chester and assebled about half of their models and played a game after learning the rules. The plastic is as good as the same as normal and glue using plastic glue, however it is not needed as they all fit together quite well. The layout on the sprues is good and all of the marines parts are numbered on the sprue near them which helps with assembling them. I also have to say that they have done a magnificent job on the level of detail, the way they go together and the positions of mold lines.

I played the game aswell. As i have never played it before i cant compare it but i have to say that it is one of the funnest games i have ever done. The marine player is limitted to 3 minutes and 15 seconds for his play and this really adds to the tension as you can get a few turns where you run out of time. From what i can tell the game is also very tactical, in mine i managed to use overwatch to defend tham untill the second to last turn when i got three guys slaughtered in combat. And i saw a lot of games where people wasted action points and simply got ripped to shreds. The game is also very quick due to the timer and after your first game i think you could fit a game in as little as half an hour. I also found the rules very easy to pic up and was surprised at how small the rulebook is.

Overall i would give this set a 9 out of 10 if i were reviewing it. This is because the quality of all of the model s is absoloutly outstanding and it is well worth the cost. the reason it is not a 10/10 is becasue some of the genestealers are doubled due to two sprues being the same. That said howeer the tiles that are used to play on are amazing and you get alot of extra counters and ladders and stuff.

Wouldn't it be Dave? :D

I find it a bit puzzling that I'm more excited about this GW release then the new IG codex...which I still don't have a copy...

Thanks for the review Fiore, you're only getting me more excited for the 5th now.

masturbation is no substitute for space hulk (the board game!)

$99 dollars really isn't a lot in GW land, consider how little else you'd get from GW with similar amounts of money

Mmm . . . .pure temptation.
Some where, probably in the loft, I have two complete sets of 1st edition floor tiles for Space Hulk and both the Deathwing and Genestealer expansion packs.

Just had a look on eBay and found this!
