RE: the Bash.

I am sure we can have a board left blank to allow people to set up a Hulk board.

However I have made a suggestion to the other Mods that may see Space Hulk play an even bigger role on the day and in the run up to it, but we shall have to wait to see if anything comes out of this.
Nice to hear that Rictus. If there's anything I can do to help let me know.

Sorry Dave :$
Oh, you! Alright, cos you gave me a cute lookey uppy face; which would be awesome to see a man of your stature pull off!

Dave out.
Just don't expect me to do it in public. ;)

As not to drag this into a little love-fest, aside from just playing Hulk, what plans do people have for the figs in the box?
I'm sure we can find a private space in Warhammer World in March. . .

But to answer your question, I've downloaded the PDF Blood Angels codex, and will probably spend tomorrow figuring how to turn my existing Swords of Retribution into a Blood Angels force, in a style matching the Spae Hulk termies. Yep, its that bad. How do you paint your red again? :P

If it does come to a serious board for the bash and people are fully commited to it I may be able to come up with a way of making a fully three dimensional board with sculpted walls and floors, etc, matching what comes in the set to help out (time and resources permiting that is).
I'm thinking of doing something like this anyway but it'll definately rely on help from a few others if it were to happen.

I was considering making a 3d set myself, i would probably cast mine and would also sell it as a generic space corridor. For the pieces i would stick to 40mm squares, although this makes it bigger it also means that generic terminators can be used. With mine i was also not considering a full U shape with two tall wall but instead two very low side walls or only small bumps as i have tried to illustrate below.

This would allow model to be moved around easily and allso allow for some wall that helps define the pieces and make them interesting.

I also think that if you do make the space hulk board then you should have all of the floor panels the same, one of the things i do not like about their pieces is the huge variety of floor panels that make no sense.

Anyhow feel free to ignore my advice if you want but i wish you the best of luck in managing to make one, im sure it would be brilliant.

Aye. Godsend. D'you reckon washes would work as well? Would it just give you a less glossy result, or something more catastrophic?

Edit: Just read the whole thread. To the Art Store!

Bah, you should get two boxies Dave, get a nice Deathwing army save £5 if you bought single boxies of Terminators & get a free small Genestealer force. There no excuse :P I know how much you student make on that course

That what I'll be doing as well as a big game of Hulk.

Just bought three boxies yesterday. Two for me & my birthday, other one for a friend who on military duty in Afgan. It great, £176 spent....none of it mine as it ether my friend or earily birthday money. My local store was happy seeing nice £20 notes hahaha.

loving the battle damage in the lightning clawed termi. i think the amount of detail on these is the benchmark for things to come from g-w.

i do think someone was watching wolverine when sculpting him though that pose is very familiar

Sounds good mate. :)

I've been planning something like this for ages now and what I'll probably do is make all the floor sections and cast them with dentist's plaster. I've got the walls planned along with doors that open and shut built in but the main problem at the moment is finding the time to get started.
I won't be starting mine till january but once underway it'll only take a couple of weeks to get done.

FOUR [well, someone needs a cool off period]ING KILOS!!! Jeez, thats epic! I think the last box I bought at that sorta mass was the CoD Imperial Sector (the £100 one). This box is probably going to single handedly fix GW's sales problems, lol.

And looking at the sprues they're snap fit. Unbelievable detail considering what the old one-piece minis used to look like (shudder).
