Sabrina just preordered a copy at the store and they told her the deposit only holds it day of release.

I shouldn't be surprised by GW, but I still am.
You lose your deposit if you don't pick it up on the day of release?

SC
I think they just give you a voucher back or something. They just won't hold your copy past day of release.

And my local GW wonders why I don't buy stuff from them.

as awesome as the models are (probs the best plastics this year) and how much id love to convert them terminators to word bearers I think i will give this 1 a miss, I know its good value and all but £60 is pushing it for me.

with out sounding negative if this is supposed to be another way of getting ppl into the hobby then it will probs fail, few ppl would spend £60 on a board game(which is what this is essentially) that they might not like. I just think its GW trying to cash in on peoples nostalgia.

The price point actually compares pretty well to most Fantasy Flight Game boardgames.

I've ordered mine! :D Was going to reserve one at my local GW, then just thought 'duh, just frakkin' order it!' Not looking forward to the credit card bill next month though... :/

Yes, I am very happy abou this, I can see this being a game that my Wife and Stepchildren will enjoy playing without getting bored waiting for their turn (like they do whenver they've tried 40k in the past).

I don't know if I'm going to paint the models - I think they're fantastic, especially the Terminators which are the best plasitcs GW have done, imho. I think they'll be perfectly usable as a board game set without painting them though.

I am excited about the prospect of using this game beyond the contents - I can see myself converting a squad of Chaos Terminators for Space Hulk exploring, and making daemonic creatures that count as 'Stealers - not all Hulks are infested with Genestealers, there are other nasties in the 40k universe...

I was thinking of running a BFG campaign early next year at my local gaming club, now I'll try and incorporate Space Hulk in to it B)

Well done GW - even though your decision to make this a limited run makes me scratch my head big time... ???

If you look at this image it is about real sized as my thumb is the same as the one in the pic on my computer, wich shows how big things are.

Nice stuff! Just hope they don't sell out before I can get the cash together for this.

Nice to see the terminators with individual heraldry as well.

I'd disagree, If you walked into a store/at a games convention and had never played 40k before a fast paced game with minimum model count would entice me to try something new over a long drawn out introduction game with 100's of models on the table.

Spacehulk is a showcase for the hobby in the respect it's easy to pick up, easy to learn and relativley cost effective.

youre looking at what £50 for 10 termies alone, add in a libby, brood lord, some stealers (best ones I've ever seen, just screams ALIENS to me, I might just have to watch it tonight to get me in the mood!)

I have family and friends/work mates stay regularly, most look through my miniatures cabinet and ask loads of questions. Having the SpaceHulk minis painted up is a whole lot easier because I can just get them out and have a game on the dining table. with the new boards.Win win I say.

notice how all the termi's right shoulder pads have been painted t orepresent individual heraldry??? Very space knights!

1st Edition Space Hulk was the first pure GW game I bought many, many years ago and without it I would never of got into GW anymore than playing Heroquest. So it has cost me countless hours, money and pain over the years.

I am finding it hard not to order one.

Even though I probably won't actually play it more than once a year...but still, it's Space Hulk...

You lucky goit.

I did love Space Hulk. Never played the later versions though, I presume this new one is based on those rather than first edition.

I've not given in yet.

Yeah I entered once in my name, once in my dad's and once in the cat's! :D

I never played second edition but did have Genestealer and Deathwing. Apparently second ed wasn't as good though.

My favourite expansion was the one in white dwarf where you could use regular tactical squads, that was an excellent version. Marines got slaughtered by the bucket load!

Still think that Advanced Space Crusade was a better system though. Kind of space hulk plus.

Adding tactical marines certainly made it more amusing.

I think with Deathwing and Denestealer the game got a bit bloated, those psychic power rules were a bitch. Though as Deathwing sold me onto DA I can't complain too much.

Advanced Space Crusade was great as well. Shame they didn't expand on that much.

Ordered 2 so I can get some massive hulks going. Can't wait to play around with those plastics, some of them might even find there way into my Sword Bearers army.

The 'stealers ain't to shabby either. Might even tempt me to do a nid force.........
