I'm rather partial to either lemon sponge or orange sponge cake after a mountain bike ride, all those guilty calories go away. Dog house is marrying his 'hulk, I'm having a vasectomy reversal so I can mate with mine, I can't wait to have baby space hulks! (via cesarean section obviously) |

Lemon drizzle is good, possibly better than chocolate fudge cake. I'm not a big fan of fake chocolate (cake, ice cream, hot chocolate etc) I would want carrot cake with good icing if I were to attend a SH themed wedding. |

Orange sponge cake is a reasonable alternative, but the key is vegetables. Carrot cake, lemon drizzle, we could even have pie of some sort. Space Hulk likely accepts nothing less, and would probably throw a fit of displeasure.

Had 6 games at the weekend at home, 'stealers won all of them (mission 1). My 9 year old daughter said "that looks like fun" she had a little bit of rule coaching and the odd "turn this way - overwatch" and walked the mission in 10 turns. With 5 marines alive and only firing her heavy flamer twice. Wee bitch! My oldest son isn't impressed, keeps threatening to "practice his dice rolls" LOL. My girl had an uncanny knack of rolling 5+6 on most shooting dice, never got into hand to hand combat, and jammed a whole 3 times (she shot 25+ 'stealers in 10 turns, only 3 with the flamer. Having set a "marines must win the mission before we move onto the next one" rule my kids can't wait till I get back on friday to play again. Best thing about it is two of my kids who had no interest before are reading the background (my codex's, WD's and anything else) and asking when they can play SH next, can they help me paint them all, wouldn't it be great if....... they might be sucked into the hobby sooner than my wife would want! Nice one! It's great to see the kids getting involved with the game mate. A lot of people have said that the original was their gateway game into the hobby. |

Played my first two games tonight against a mate who said that in all the games he'd played with friends the marines had never one. I then promptly whupped his [arse] losing only one terminator (can't remember how many turns) then served it up again for desert when playing as stealers taking out three termi's including the sergeant. The look on his face as I took down the heavy flamer, with three stealers in reserve, was special... |

An all in one boxed game leading acting as a gateway to the hobby? What a cool idea, GW should do more! (like Heroquest and Space Crusade) |

I'm hoping for expansions, probably fan made, to include attacker and defenders of other races. Like with scouts or other race elites. My mate also suggested daemons in place of stealers seeing as how the hulk dropped out of the warp. Maybe even orks or necrons? |

Back in the day Advanced Space crusade had excellent rules for all races to be included. It was basically advanced space hulk, similar core rules but heavily modified. The trick to expansions is not to make single lists. Just because a terminator for example kills a genestealer on a six doesn't it it'll do the same to a guardsman and this is where people go wrong. The best way to look at it is as two sides to the game you've got your stealer replacements and your marine replacements. Stealer replacements are best kept as minimum choice assault armies, so things like Orks and daemons are good for this. The marine replacements are best kept to shooty style armies with low figure counts. Then rather than say this eldar list is for fighting all races tailor it to a specific campaign. |

I gave in and bought a 2nd copy in the store today for later resale. They still have about 25 copies and have been instructed to send 10 to better performing stores |

Been seriously tempted to do that myself Mortare. Kits without the models - just the other bits, are making profit. It's a bit mad. |
