Talking of Paranormal Activity again, just seen this news article over at Empireonline: http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=25990

Couple of interesting things, firstly UK release of PA is in November - hooray! And secondly, it was filmed on a budget of $11,000 :o

Michael freakin' Bay eats breakfasts that have a higher budget than that!

I recently watched The Objective which was directed by the original director of Blair Witch. It was pretty dull. :(

I watched Paranormal Activity and Moon today.

Paranormal Activity was a let down to be honest, wasn't expecting too much but didn't jump once throughout the film.

Moon was excellent, even though I figured the plot twist out from the trailer ages ago it's very good and I really enjoyed it.

Indeed it was, while the plot twist was simple, over all the film was great.

And I'm sitting sketching some of the vehicles to work out 40k versions... :ermm:

Still trying to see if we're getting the Chopper toy from Avatar over here. The new trailer is much more interesting, but it does look to be Dances with wolves in space.

I like a good plot. but i dont think that this will suffer from lack of it. (though by an large Cameron normally manages a passable plot) for me this is a visual first and foremost.

im gonna take a guess at the plot, since apparently the IMAX at Rheged is only showing set films that are "50 minutes long and suitable for all the family" :(

1) Americans invade somewhere inhabited by what they think are semi-intelligent indigenous creatures.
2) Americans want their land, so send someone to find out more about them and their weaknesses
3) person finds out what the Americans want, and turns against them in favour of the inhabitants, probably down to a love interest.
4) Americans carry on and invade, and the inhabitants try to stop them.
5) Inhabitants win, but someone (possibly said love interest, although apparently not in this case) probably dies.

for some reason, seeing the trailer made me think of a series of books called The Amtrak Wars, and this is almost what the storyline for that is...

The artbook was the best book of them all. Remember it being in one of my old school libraries.

Amtrak Wars. Christ, I remember them! Had a great time reading them, which made up for the frustrating time hunting through my library to find them.

Never could find the art book though.

Rumours keep popping up that he'll get around to doing another three books in the series, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Sadly.
