Hi 'bunker, I'm moving into a new appartment (no more nagging parents, yay!), and since it has a quite large living room, some mates and I have decided that to encourage some gaming, we'd build a board. Actually two boards that can be connected. ...aaand hanging from the ceiling, so they can be hoisted up when not being used. Anyway, the point of my quiery here is: One of the boards will be themed like an imperial forward base of some sort, with trench networks, bunkers, etc... One of the edges will be half a dry riverbed (which the other board's edge will also be, allowing them to be connected for big games), but only a few inches. But, to have slightly more than bunkers and trenches, I was thinking about what else would be cool to include in such a base. -Landing Pad? -Command Bunker? -Fuel/Ammo Depot? -Bridge over the riverbed with a "gate/bridge-building" (you know, where you flash your ID)? -really anything to have it stand out as less trench/bunker and more as a real base*... Any help appreciated. Thanks! PS. If anyone has any inspiration/links to his own or other's work, please post it. *of course, the board will only be comprised of a part of the base, so no huge 360 perimeter or whatever. It's a section of a base. |

Hehe, we're discussing how much GW stuff we're gonna buy, but in either case, we will probably have landing pads, GW's or not! ![]() It is cool though.

Well, a forward base is likely to have any of the things you've listedd. At the least you want some kind of command bunker, with smaller outlying fox-holes. Landing pad is also a cool touch. |

Do a google image search for terms along the line of WWII, defensive lines, Maps. You'd be surprised how much inspiration you can get from google images. |
