Hi guys

I haven't seen much PlanetStrike up and so I decided to post up my recently done stuff. It isn't complete but it is just the fiddly stuff left.

Here is the Skyshield landing platform.

It is a big sucker:

Here is something to be careful of when assembling the pad itself. Make sure you push all of the pieces together as firmly as possible while drying otherwise when it comes time to put the shield bits together they will not fit very well. This is what you do not want:

I got 3 of the bastions and decided I needed to do a conversion like in the book with the Catachans:
Posted Image

The conversion itself was pretty easy, the door to the porch is done by removing the lower part of the gun port:

On one side the top level barricades marry up to the wall very easily but on the other side a bit of trimming is required:

However I also decided that I wanted them to be quite modular:

And here are all the parts:

The top levels were the trickiest parts:

I can detail the assembly steps if anyone is having trouble but it is pretty straight-forward if you are careful.

I gotta say that the GW razor saw is now my favorite piece of equipment!

Now I have to look into all the fiddly little parts and the embellishments ... ohh and of course paint! :D

I hadnt realised until now how big the sky shield actually was. I like the work you have done converting the bastions as well, do you have any more planned?

oh, and welcome to the 'Bunker :)

Thanks Bramble! I am a long time reader, first time poster!! :)

I haven't got any more bastions to assemble!! :) But I do need to assemble all the rest of my cities of death stuff and Aquila Temple.

I was going for a gateway or Arc de Triomphe rip-off.

It is able to be dis-assembled so that minis can get inside the tower and so I can transport it:

This bit is pretty cool - the wreckage is supposed to represent a massive blast from a Titan or something of that like.

??? What I am asking you dear readers is how I should cap off the top tower.

That sky shield is huge. If I actually needed terrain I'd certainly buy one.

Welcome to AB.

Impressively large terrain you have there.

The gateway looks very good, very imposing and suitably Imperial.

I'm waiting for some Bastions to turn up myself and I was thinking exactly the same thing in keeping them modular allowing different builds.

How do people get off and on that landing pad?

First off, great work!

Thank you for the detail shots of the double-Bastion. I'd considered it but didn't understand the fidgity bits to make it work. Something I really do want to try. B)

Thanks for the thread, I'll post some of mine as well, along with my Bastion conversion idea when I can take a few pics.

Nice terrain. I like those new bastions, they're cool. You've done a good job of making them modular, it's good to see it's possible.

That Baneblade looks kinda stuck, though. :P

The more modular I see that these bastions can be the more I wan't a few. Fantastic work.

What tower do you mean? if you mean the one with the plasticard floor then a simple eagle piece would do it. If not then i have no idea, but still very nicely made terrain, i certainly like the bastions.

That gateway is awesome! It's going to make a great centerpiece for your table. Looking forward to more.
