I've always wanted to play Dark Future. I love the world it's set in, but have never got hold of a set and never really knew where to start.
yeah with the rules online and with it being the same scale at hot wheels it was fairly easy to get started with out the box set. the track from Speed rally works well minor tweeks needed but works out. hope that points you in the right direction VK fall. if you have any questions PM me.

I've got fond memories of sticking guns on matchbox cars and so on to make Dark Future cars. Ace!

That they did, with some nice miniatures to boot. They also published a FASA Doctor Who roleplaying game and had a few bits out for that. Somewhere in the WHW cabinets is an RTB01 Space MArine with a Dalek base.

Go post in someone's topic that you normally wouldn't
Got a large chunk of the old Dredd figures but they did suffer from the most fragile ankles of anything GW has ever put out.

Ah go on; an Epic army doesn't take up much room, they're only tiddly!

I vaguely remember that way back GW used to do a couple of kids games as well, "Gobbos in the Pantry" or something like that... (shudder). Which was always a bit odd as that was when the shops were all leather jackets and death metal.

You mean they aren't anymore? I still find a whiff of leather jackets and death metal in there, laced with BO. That's just the staff as well.

Alas the last time I went in the one nearest me it was full of 12 year olds punching each other in the nuts.

Here's the view into the shady past I was talking about;

Posted Image

Suitable for ages 7+ AND includes a cassette with 15 goblin songs to sing as you play!

And the 'expansion set' Zog Off that came with White Dwarf;

If only they'd kept up the theme of sing-along mood music with each game they produce, 40k could come with a 90 minute CD of shouting.

that's why I get everything online or at a hobby store the last time I went into one of those "game" stores it was a bunch of little kids playing card games like pokemon I though that died out years ago.

last time i was in one (the other week) one guy talked at me (he was about 15) for 1 hour non stop while i assembled my valk and talked to my best mate about the weekend's plans/what we got up to the previous week, while 3 12 year olds grumbled about how they kept stealing each others seats...

i left shortly after my mate...

i'll edit in the original reason for posting:

the guys who did doom and quake (or was it unreal tournament, im not sure) are producing a new vehicle shooter, looks absolutely awesome. Remind anyone of dark future?

my first ever Baneblade was an Epic one for the game called SpaceMarine, which was later renamed Epic 40K.
