Old games. I have most of those still. Trying to think what the oldest proper GW game is. May have to look in old White Dwarfs. I don't think it was Warhammer first edition. Though it may just have been licenced stuff before then. |

Man 'o War - awesome game, really good idea and fully supported in its day. It's a damn tragedy that it was axed, as along with Warhammer and Warmaster it gave you a complete system, as does Epic/40k/BFG. Would love to see it return, although it would lead to more of my money going to GW. |

Looks like WFB and Talisman came out in 1983. Battlecars was earlier - I thought it was licenced, but turns out not to be. Apocalypse was 1980. And I wasn't aware that Calamity was co designed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. |

Have you looked at Uncharted Seas as that seems to have taken the MOW flag and run with it. |

Might have to have a look at that - first glance seems quite snazzy. |

I picked up a brand new 4th edition copy of Talisman from UK comic shop chain Forbidden Planet just after Christmas, don't know if it was an out of production old stock or a new print but they had several copies in the store I went to. As for me I'd love to have played Dark Future and the White Dwarf articles for the old Warhammer RP and for Confrontation (forerunner to Necromunda) always made me want them too, but I was too young at the time. Necromunda is another I'd mention in itself too - the amount online now, both in models and rules are not a patch on the range when it was fully supported. |

I have a battered and old copy of Warhammer Quest, how I love that game! It was also the very fist purchase I made for the hobby so I guess that means something too.

Confrontation was fantastic. My first GW game was Heroquest Rapidly followed by Avanced Heroquest, Space Crusade etc.Space Hulk must have been a pretty early one for me. Can't remember the order I got them in. I've always wanted to play Dark Future. I love the world it's set in, but have never got hold of a set and never really knew where to start. |

Yeah, confrontation was great - it was to necromunda what rogue trader is to 5th edition - massively more detailed and taking the better part of a day to play a small(ish) game... Heroquest was my 'in' as well - good times ![]() Dark Future sets can be found on ebay for reasonable prices... it's also good for picking up extra pieces once you have the boxset. +edit: typo+ Edited by Aegri, 27 Aug 2009, 08:14 PM.
