The ninja orks are great. They seem to have similar style armour to some of the original space orks but those guys had guns. I love those models and still own a load of them your ninjas are unique though with their ninja poses and weapons. The big boss looks good so far, to create a model from scratch is impressive something i have yet to attempt. |

Update time! here i added some GS chains to my nunchucks ninja. michelangelork's chucks are ready for action ![]() And i made some progress on sniku-rotu san - hes starting to look ninja-esque used some katanas i got from some old childhood musha-gundam toys. Never thought these would see daylight again ![]() ![]() and he's semi posed (still got some work to do) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() family pose ![]() ere we go ere we go! tremble stupid gunlines! ooo and forgot to add this: started work on me warboss. Very early WIP here we go... very early progress on my next HQ warboss Gorfokk. Fluff: He's the nominal leader of my Kogboy Waaagh - the council of meks (the de facto leaders of the army) use a Lobotomized-remote-control-gigantic-warboss to pretend the waaagh is just like any other regular warboss led waaagh... but in reality they are ruled by a council of mekbossez from all different clans. The gran council uf mekbossez all have remote controls and take turns controlling GORFOKK the proxy boss. Due to these different controllers, gorfokk is known for his eccentricity - some times different mekbosses keep talking into their microfones and his loudspeaker starts arguing with himself in different voices. imperial records have classified warboss gorfokk as a particularly deranged warboss who suffers from multiple personality disorder, leading to many bad strategic moves by imperial forces to contain the Waaagh Kogboyz . structure early early blocking ![]() ![]() ![]() i was going for a retarded gorila like pose so he would look a bit ... aloof - head tilted siodeways drooling from open mouth, and a ciclops- like helmet (to dehumanize him by hiding the eyes) like the one they use in spongebob's movie. i'll make him look retro. i'm thinking of adding double powerclaws (iron hads like from hellboy's hand, not actual power klaws). he's gonna look a bit like the villain Bane from Batman - full of tubes injecting adrenalin when the mekbossez decide they have to krump something - they push the big red button and hang back to enjoy the show ![]() well, thats it for now! C&C welcome! cheers! Edited by Peacecraft, 10 Apr 2012, 02:55 AM.

Made his foot and i changed the angle of his leg a bit to make him more dynamic - now i'm much more satisfied with the pose ![]() ![]() ![]() I made a small comparison to show the difference between the old and new pose. amazing what a small anglke change can accomplish! ![]() NOW i feel satisfied with the pose. i'll strat detailing the clothes today - anatomy finally done! and a bit more progress on da warboss ![]() ![]() ![]() C&C welcome! cheers! update time on snikrot!![]() And here we go: i finished covering his legs with his ninja pants - inspired by Infinity's sectorial japanese ninjas - oniwabans more precisely after i was done i realized i once again had sculpted his leg muscles all proppa like with sanding and detailing off proportions and then proceeded to cover it with pants! doh! gork dammit, i did it again! The other nice feature i finished were his eyes - i wanted to be able to see his orky eyes under the oni mask... so i went ahead and added volume to his face made durepox eyes, then made GS eyelids, eyebrows and cheekbones. wont do the rest of his face cuz that'll be totally covered. later on i'll add some sketches and inspiration on the actual mask. thats it, was small stuff but it was very time consuming to get right. damn i hate pants now, i'd wear speedos if i had to sculpt myself ![]() thats it, prolly next i'll do the oni mask. something inspired by this ![]() been using this for a while as a spy while playing TF2. delightfull to backstab people all morky-like, just like snikrot does ![]() aaand i did some more work on gorfokk anyway, here's more progress on waross gorfokk - did his hulk pants and i liked the way it turned out. now i can go ahead and cover it with lotsa armour plates and wires and proppa gubbins also. hehe and also did a partial boot. later it will be weathered, detailed and have rivets and whatnot. ![]() C&C welcome, cheers! |

i remember once reading an interview with Jes Goodwin in which he said he always sculpts the correct anatomy and then sculpts over it. It makes sure that its 'right' rather than just going straight in for the clothes or whatnot. MAybe that's why his sculpting is so good and for that matter why yours is too. Fantastic work. I'm loving this. |

@cole: thanks mate ![]() @the antipope: ooo cool! now i feel i got it right - that got me cheered up and feeling less wastefull - thanks! So, some more work done on Warboss Gorfokk... or should i say Gorfokk "da Hulk" Did most of his upper torso and partial arms. his back is NOT complete, there are more muscles to define, his biceps and left triceps needs work and whatnot. his trapezium and deltoids are close to completion and only require filing and some touch ups. His chest is very raw and needs significant filing to get right. I was aiming for pumped up with "Squiggoth Steroid" look, as he'll have tubes of the stuff sticking to his body like the villain Bane from Batman. I like the way he's over ripped, my sculpting teacher showed me that exceedingly large bodybuilders get deformed in this fashion unlike how super hero artists draw anatomy. anyways, here's da update ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() EDIT: resized pics. my bad lads HULK SMASH! after this stage i think i'm gonna start working on his ugly face. start with lower gob, then cover the top with a bucket helmet with 1 cyber cyclops eye. i feel he looks like a proppa warboss, now i have to make a dull retarded expression on his face to convey that he's lobotomized. prolly make dull teeth and a drooling expression to convey his mental limitations this has been real fun! C&C welcome! Edited by Peacecraft, 26 Apr 2012, 02:26 PM.

yo lads, long time no see! hmmm.. been doing them sculpy stuff all proppa like but was too lazy to post so here we go with some heavy updates: detail of the mouth - jaw + teef and tongue. I have to do the internal parts before sculpting lips and his face. ![]() starting his hands - all sculpted also ![]() aaand some updates - mostly muscular tweaking, and a lot o work done on the legs. armour, straps, details, but i still have a lot of orkifying to do AFTER i finish all the details. So for now, armour paltes, steel heavy boots that i will add spikes, glyphs and rivets later. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I plan to make a back implant where he houses his adrenalin and squig fuel steroids/stimulants/combat drugs the meks use to pump him into a frenzy. prlloy some little chem tanks, some tubes and cyborky worky bits. i also have to make his retro looking helmet with a cycops eye(30's old school sci fi i think -still gotta research). I'll try to make the tubes and adrenalin pumping tubes separate so i can paint the skin without wires making it complicated. almost done now well... i think thats it, C&C welcome! cheers!

ere we go... UPDATE The going was slow the last couple of weeks cuz i had a bit of a creative roadblock because of his head (it wasn't looking good and i couldnt figure out why) but i finally managed to get over it and start over. This thing was nagging me so much i couldnt move ahead with the project This is the retro dome head i started making... and it looked awfull! The problem that i couldnt pinpoint was that the head was too tall and made him eggheaded, and where the face plate rested his eye would be too high around where the ork's forehead would be. ![]() (also screwed uo and broke his tooth along the way )So, i did the smart thing and ripped it apart and will start the helmet again from scratch. What i got started next was detailing to the arms (cookie to whoever pinpoints what character inspired the arms!) and finally it started lookin proppa Its massive and i think the size of those hamfists convey the "counts as power claw" idea (after all its proportionally larger than a powerfist on a beakie). Will magnetize his right fist so i can swap it between Power klaw + kombi weapon config or double power klaw. ![]() ![]() I also did a lot of work on the boots- he's got plenty of poky bits so it urts more when he kicks and stomps his victims. I like how these turned out, next stage i'll be adding rivets and multiple bits to him. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Started to add his backpack where he stocks his squig steroids/promethium-adrenalin tanks. i will be adding worky bits and many tubes to him and making details all proppa like. I wanted to use transparent tubes with coloured water effects in them to make some of the worky bits but i'm figuring it will be a nightmare to make it. still trying to figure out where to put them without screwing up the whole thing - i wanted 2 seringes on his shoulders but it would look fragile with glass tubes poking out of his body so i thought about putting one in the middle of the backpack. Any other suggestions to achieve a orky chemical enhancer? ![]() ![]() Oh, i don't add the GW plastic bits yet because at this stage i am using the oven to bake the greenstuff, wich melts plastics if used carelessly, so if i stick o shoota on him it'll melt so... bits and orkification are the left for the last step on the model, after i redo the head. so there we go, almost done and going into the final stages of warboss gorfokk. i hope to finish his head this week to really start finalizing the last details. C&C very welcome! Cheers!
