They do look really nice but the thing that let's it down for me is the guy with the broken helmet and exposed skull. Although they did originally explain the origins of the LotD way back and later debunked the story it's always been the mystery behind them that appealed to me.
Still they are looking very nice and could be used for other chapters as well.

I must admit I like the growing trend of more upright marines, it makes all the difference. Releasing fifteen LotD models is a good idea as well. A great way of making a LotD marines army is to use the Rubric Marines in the chaos dex and having more than ten model options is a great start.

apparently 15 different figures on the way. Thought I would relay that for you to save you the trouble of wading through the winges and the 'I'm so dissapointed's ' of a place I shall leave nameless.

honestly I despair... ^o)
To quote McEnroe, You cannot be serious! What is it with some people? Yeah there are minis that look like they been beaten with a banjo, but that's a great mini!
I think it's more a case of people bleating on about no Inquisition or Dark Eldar...God it get's tiresome. Great minis! I'd like some just to paint...

Not the only one who thinks that. Looking forward to seeing the full lot of these in due course, the teaser images have got me quite interested.

I like the posing. I'd have just rather have had them for marines that could be used than a elite unit that will only ever turn up in Apocalypse games.

I'll be using them as command squad marines for my home brew chapter. Except maybe the ones with exposed skulls....

This seems to have kind of turned into a rumour thread so will post this here.

Was reading through the explosions article on GW site just now and spotted this.

"The spire was built as a separate piece, using parts from all manner of kits, including Imperial Bastions, The Shrine of the Aquila, Fortress of Redemption and more besides."

Now there have been the rumours of whether the Fortress of Redemption is something real or a one off created for the books. Well would seem to me that its something thats planned.

Unless I am being really stupid and its already out and/or confirmed as coming?

The fortress strikes me as a really nice product, although I'd still rather spend on minis than terrain. The ork megaforce bewilders me. They have all those great plastics they could put in, why NINE warbikers? It doesn't seem to be a starter force or a natural expansion really.

I can't make my mind up about that fortress. I sort of like it but not keen on the giant angels of death type thing on the side.

like the look of it, not sure on the scale though...

edit: not a fan of the lascannons though... too long and thin.

Ah didn't realise it was an actual product. Yeah it is called a Fortress, but doesn't look like its much more than a big balcony. No indication of how much use it could be. Not sure, never been one to buy terrain anyway

Both the missiles and the Las turret are surface to air weapons....
