I know... :'(

All Wolf Lords apparently make ONE Wolf Guard unit into troops. Logan Grimnar makes ALL WG into troops...

I really doubt that an all termie force for space wolves will be worth it. Wolf Guard get expensive fast. Although each WG taking their own weapons load out instead of a squad load out could be fun. (i.e. 5 Assault Cannons in a 5 man squad)

I dont know about that buddy... Here's a quote from the Deathwing thread on Warseer:

Quote:

Pupwing
5*Terminators 165
1*WC+SB 5
1*Assault Canon 30
1*SS+SB 15
1*Chainfist 15 (This I'm not sure, PF is 10 pts so a PF+SB is same cost as DW)
Total 230 ( for 6 PW attack + 3PW rr to hit or wound + 3 normal attacks + 3 PF attack in CC, Same shooting as DW)

DW
DeathWing Terminators
1*Assault Canon
1*Chain Fist
250 (for 10 PF attack, Same shooting as pup wing

Seen the codex & spures today.

Assault cannon for the Wolf Terminators look brilliant & put the current Assault cannons to shame. But that new assault cannon, thing of a sort of Heavy Bolter style ammo fed for it & it hook up to the back of the Terminator armour if I rememeber rightly.

Lot of the heads we have not seen yet look very cool. Though there is one in the power armour set which.......... basicly if you want man/girl/thing then that head is for it.

But rest them do look cool.

I really can not wait, going for a all Drop Pod army which will look cool & should hopeful play cool as well.

not sure i like the ammo feed for the asscannon, the current one looks awesome IMHO... apart from the concept of the rotating bits being only the barrels, not the breaches of each barrel as well, sort of defeating the point of a rotary weapon...

Won't be doing an army but I hope this is the way they will do different chapters in the future. Wolf Guard kit looks nice

The WG Guard is nice yeah. The plastics put the metals to shame, though that seems to be a common thing nowadays. A good common thing IMO.

well with tom kirkby claiming that they should be charging more for plastics than metals due to them being better quality now its something i bloody well expect...

hulk proved that they can. If a release isnt better than they could do in metal now im not going to be impressed...

I like the new stuff, the new sprue looks awesome. Two handed axe, thunderhammer, well cool shield, plenty of heads, backpacks and other goodies.

I like the new WG as well. And the guy on the Wolf is cool, even if the concept is odd, the model is nice. The guy riding the wolf is cool.

I think they will redo Ragnar, but will be in a 2nd wave release.

I think one of the arms is throwing a hammer like Thor. That'd be cool.

Just reading the snippets from the codex on Warseer, and it seems all characters are being redone (or done) apart from Grimnar, so Ragnar will be along at somepoint.

Just got back from reading the Codex at my local store (the benefit of having taught the staffer how to play back in the day!). Grimnar, Blackmane, Njal, Bjorn and Ulrik all in as you would expect. The Trickster is an upgrade for Blood Claws, there is Grimnars personal champion, a thunder hammer wielding terminator who can throw his storm shield as an attack, Canis Wolfborn who is a better version of the thunderwolf cavalry. Personally I like the look of the Lone Wolf option. An elite who is the last survivor of his old pack but not a Wolf Guard. Effectively an HQ, couple of wounds and attacks basic and access to the whole armoury (give or take). Takes an Elites choice but seem pretty cool as roving mini-HQs. The sprue looks good, lots of extras including some pretty cool helmets (one as a wolfs head). Wolf Guard boxset includes ambidextrous (sp?) terminators so finally some eft handed storm bolters. May venture to the Wolves after all

Yeah the codex entries for most are on Warseer now. The Termy character can throw his thunderhammer like a boomerang, and his SS gives an attack.

Njal is pretty cool, conjures up a storm every turn he is on the board and it basically gets worse and worse (for your opponent).

No LR Exterminator anymore though, boo. And they can't take Ironclad Dreads either.

The throwing with the hammer must be inspired by the Space Wolf novels ... Haegr does that a few times ...

I cant say I like the look of that new ammo feed for the AC looks clumsy.

Interestingly some of the chest pieces for the marines include pouches and grenades. Looks quite good but does limit the posing somewhat without a degree of conversion- they serve to keep the torso upright and front facing rather than allowing pivoting

I dunno, one or two of the original SW torsos had things hanging below the waistline and they were more or less just as posable as the normal torsos.

Its a shame that there seems to only be one or two sets of the more upright legs on the sprue. I wonder if the boxes are going to be sold as the vanilla marine sprues, with this new sprue, or just as many of these sprues that it takes to make a unit?

Also apparently the unit sizes are going to be really "non-codex" in terms of number of models in the unit.

Seems that the new Wolves are going to be marines only in stats now! lol

I gave in and pre-ordered 2 Wolf Packs, the codex and box of Wolf Guard. Going to add them to the big pile of unpainted figures in my cupboard! I'd like to do a small army, 1000pts sounds nice
