@burnie: I didn't know well how it was written, so I just wrote like I thought it was and it is wrong.

Mine is a nickname given to me by an ex friend back on college and it's stuck, it's based on a play on my surname: Maher.

My current avatar is nicked off this very site think it was from Tinners log, I chose it as I dressed up as Peter Griffin at my mates Fancy Dress Stag Do do it seemed fitting. My previous avatar was a FW Space Wolf Terminator bust I painted and was proud of.

Awesome idea.

Now maelstrom where did i get that from, some of it was taken from a Dimmu borgir song called: maelstrom mephisto

But also one day when at a Satyricon concert me and me mate were [tinkle]ing around and thought up black metal stage names for ourselves, those familiar with the genre will know they all have stage names( Frost, Inferno, Ihsahn, Archaon, Satyr, Thebon, Ravn, Infernus, Mortus etc) so i came up with Maelstrom, and have used it on forums ever since tho I aren't really a member of that many.

In real life don't think i have ever really had a nickname jus go by Si or Simon

Jus change my avatar when i find something cool so its Bender at the mo, was a helghast trooper b4 that. Will probs change again soon

Mine must be the most boring, it was my ebay addy! VX is short for vixen, a nickname of an old friend which just stuck.

The avatar, mmm.

Bigbadcol and myself were running exercise Dragonov for cadets who were joining the forces, and we wanted a badge. This isn't it but it gave us the inspitation for the badge. Point to note, every cadet who attended the course was accepted into the forces
Dragonov was a week long exercise introducing them to combat fitness, leadership and lack of sleep, we worked alot of explosives into it, one going drastically wrong when three mortars went off the same time removing the hair off one of instructors who was in the building, oh how we laughed!

hahaha, sounds like fun to me. We had a guy who had half his face paralyzed from a nearby explosion, don't worry, it was only temporary. Lasted a week or two but man that was so funny! Whenever he talked only the left side of his lips moved, it was hillarious. Funny what explosions can do to you :)

Mine name is a mispelling of Calcifer......

"Calcifer is a fire demon from Diana Wynne Jones' 1986 novel Howl's Moving Castle. He is described as "a thin blue face, very long and thin, with a thin blue nose" and curly green flames as hair. He has purple fire for his mouth, two green flames for eyebrows, and orange flame for his eyes. In the movie, he is a teardrop shaped orange flame, but in the scene where Howl moves the castle, Calcifer flares up and looks somewhat like his description in the book. In House of Many Ways, Calcifer is described as a blue teardrop. However, in the Japanese animated film adaption, Calcifer appears to be an adorable orange flame, though when he moves the castle's door's locations he briefly bears ressemblence to his lexical counterpart."

My wife likes that character and we have several in our house :)

My name came about when I was looking for somthing more apropriate than Blood Fart (rocking that name since 2004 on counterstrike) to use on EvE online. It just came to my head. and I rolled with it. So strangly enough nothing to do with my Blood Angels army. (sanguinis whould be missplelt for that anway) Eventualy I decided to see if it actualy meant anything and it turned out to mean Blood Law or Family Law. (though failing gramaticaly a bit)

As for my avatar its from a animation by don hertzfeldt that alot of people dont get but I find Pant-wettingly funny

wow Some interesting stuff here.

My name sprouts from the lustrian god o'vengeance. I started using it back when i played the odd bit of lineage 2, then guild wars, then wow and so on so forth till my addiction to MMORPG's was destroyed.

And my current Avatar is me preparing for the nuclear holocaust. ;)

I don't have a very interesting story to tell, lol. When I started using the net (back in the days of the 56k modems), I was a big fan of the Predator (and Aliens) universe, so I started using this nick on IRC and forums. I just add the "PT" part because I'm from Portugal ;)

Well i found this forum whilst searching for stuff on t'internet and i liked the really clear layout and so joined.

My real name is Jonathan and Jonny is just what my mates call me as its shorter. When i was very young i would say "Jonny5 is alive" when i hurt myself and on other occasions as i watched the (dodgy) film. Hence why i used it as my username. I dont know why i spell it Jonny instead of Jhonny i guess its the fact its not my real name so... meh.

My avatar is just my namesake it gets a bit of decoration at crimbo tho

My name sprouts from me being an idiot of epic proportion.

I joined bolter and chainsword years ago when i first got into the hobby and as i was doing blood angels i went with angel then just chucked my surname on it.

Now i hate the name as quite frankly im far from angelic.

I used to use the name PitFiend for several years, and that was changed to Fiendil somewhere a few years back just because I liked the sound of the name. The name Fiendil is the name of a city in the land of Orb, which was where the old '80s Way of the Tiger gamebooks (and the Fighting Fantasy book Talisman of Death) were set. (PitFiend was also a gamebook reference. It's the tyrannosaur/allosaur-esque dinosaur in the original Deathtrap Dungeon. As well as being a reference to my preferred activity at gigs.)

Oh. And the highland cow avatar is there because, one year, my ex was up in Scotland with her parents, and they went out for a morning walk at about 9, and they went past a field of highland cows, all still asleep, and they came back at lunchtime, and some of the cows were upright and stuffing their faces, and the ex's mum observes "it's a field of Sam's". When I had long hair, I looked just like this particular cow...
