You have already asked this question in another thread, please stop repeating yourself with pointless posts.

You have been given an answer.

if i recall correctly i was never given an answer that actually answered the point. You answered me with "Its based on the best GW game" When asked what made it the best GW Game, you replied "Its hellishly fun, easy to learn, quick to pick and easy to play"

neither of which really answered my original question, however i just went back to that thread again to have another look, seems like digits posted a helpful reply after i last checked it :)

And this isn't the place to re-ask the question, which was answered and if you feel it wasn';t answered try asking a clear question that can be answered in way you required and not an open ended one. I answered you as you asked, if you wanted the mechanics of the game read the rules.

Now stop wasting bandwidth with pontless question which you have already asked and got a few very good answers to a poorly written question.

Leave it now you have you answer, I suggest you play the game, and find for real how the game works.

It does look really good, and to be honest it looks like a game I would play. I was/still am on the verge of picking up some of the tabletop figures because of the game... saying that when I saw the game announced I had a look at the figures.

Now to the point of this post, I was really hoping (I can't seem to find one, if there is one) there would be a demo for it. I'd like to how it plays before considering picking it up. :\

EDIT: Actually I do seem to remember there was a beta/demo for it, that was online only though was it not? It also was not available for long. Did any of you play it? What was it like? :)

Looks like it's going to be an awesome game to play. Obviously I'm a bit biased having played every edition since first ed but they certainly seemed to have put some life back into the game.
I'll definately be getting this...once my blasted x-box (it's an ex-box at the moment :D ) gets fixed.
Love the player painter screens and this looks like fantastic fun to play especially as you can play it like the board game or in a more traditional live action way.

Hmmm, looks interesting certainly. I've never played Bloodbowl. I've only played squig volleyball. Much more fun :D and quick too ;) Its a game that GW Edinburgh came up with, and they're trying to tempt GW into producing it :D

I definitely want this. Having always fancied BloodBowl, but never actually got round to it, this will be a nice easy way to give it a go, and should be good fun when mates are round. Glad to see that it looks well produced.

Does anyone know if will be a Live Arcade game, or a full DVD release? If it's going to be at the full £40 sort of price I will be waiting til it pops up in a bargain bucket somewhere.

Blood Bowl rules. Almost makes me want to get an X-box.... almost.

Why Blood Bowl rules in 10 sentences...
1. A Campaign system that let's you build and improve your team, and overcome set backs.
2. It is very tactical, as the placement and use of tackle zones, as well as negating them is vital to the game.
3. The game is a modified I-GO-U-GO system so you don't have to sit around and wait while your oppoenent does everything. If they mess up, you have to be ready to react.
4. The game is relatively easy to pick up, but takes time to master the nuisances which allow re-playability.
5. The game is packed with character. Lot's of interesting tidbits, plenty of opportunity for trash talk, and a sense of dark humor to it.
6. Small scale means you can have a team ready and painted in a relatively short amount of time which allows you more time to play!
7. Inexpensive. 1 team can be made from a single $35 box of plastic miniatures. The rest is free for download!
8. Short playing time. You can finish a typical game with all the fixings in about 2 hours or less. This allows time to play after a full day, and still have time to go to the pub afterwards!
9. This game has a huge variety of play styles, especially when you take campaign mode into the picture. You can really tailor your team to play the way you want it too. Some people like finesse passing games, others like running, others play ball control, while others try to kill the other team, and others doa combination of styles. It really is limitless and let's you play the way you want.
10. Nuffle!

Being the massive BB fan that I am I went and bought the download version of this game and have to say that it's great fun!

It's pretty faithful to the game and very atmospheric. I've been playing as humans and have to admit it's a brilliant game.

You can play in either blitz or classic modes in the campaigns. Blitz is basically the board game but with added extras in the campaign mode like buying armour for your more experienced players.

There are also other bits like bribing players, pitch invasions, cheerleaders, secret weapons, potions, some minor magic and all the other bits you'd expect from a blood bowl campaign.
Classic mode is just the same game without all the trimmings and not really worth bothering with.

Real time play is a chaotic mess and I haven't bothered with it much.

Play handles in an overview of the board much like the tabletop game although you can sweep the angle down to player level if you want.

Gameplay handles in both teams set up with a minimum of three players on the line of scrimage. One player is the kicking team and the other the reciever.
The ball is kicked off and the recieving team get the first turn. A special event is triggered apon kick off and this can range from a gust of wind blowing the ball off course to full blown pitch invasions.

Actions like tackling, passing or blocking are carried out with random dice rolls which has a nice little dice rolling noise when you commit to an action. It does feel at times that the odds are slightly stacked in the opposing team's favour though. When I've tried to get past a player most of the time I get tackled where as my dwarf opponent seems to have an un-natural ability for leaping around like a rabbit.
You will need the patch though as there are a few glitches like enemy downed players getting back up and blitzing where as all you can do is get back up.

Once a touch down is scored the teams kick off again with each half lasting eight turns. Once you fail an action like blocking, get tackled or picking up the ball your turn ends and you opponent starts his turn.

With about eight teams to choose from there is a massive re-playability to the game but unless you are a die hard fan of the game I can see it getting repeatative.
There are several arenas and something like fifteen competions to take part in with four teams competing in each. If you win a tourney you can then pick another one to take part in as you work your way up the rankings to the Blood Bowl itself.

The commentary is atmospheric but also a bit repeatative and I have caught myself getting into the game a little too much even screaming at the monitor when my star player gets slammed into the astro-granite by a minotaur or trips as he is about to score the winning touch down in the dying seconds of the game.

It also plays smoothly on my ancient computer, although I have the graphics turned down, which was a bit of a concern when parting with fourty quid. If you can't wait till september and download it get a download manager as is in four parts that must be saved in one folder before installing.

As a die-hard fan of BB I give this game a nine out of ten, as a regular gamer I'd give it a seven.

Fantastic game and very tactical. I'll try and post some screen shots if I get the chance.

For some reason my computer isn't letting me take screen shots so here is the next best thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKq-aA4eRJs

I had my first quick go online today and it's brilliant fun. I was up against a french wood elf player and managed to kill two of his players!

Unfortunately I lost connection at half time with the score at nil nil. Brilliant fun though.

if it isnt letting you take screenshots, get Xfire. its free, and you can take screenshots, videos and other stuff with it, as well as tracking how long you are playing the games for so you can tell if you start to get addicted

It works just like the board game. Both players set up with one as the kicker and one as the reciever determined by a coin toss.

The kicker kicks off and the reciever gets the first turn.

You click on a player and green squares appear around him showing you how far you can move. On the edges of this there are two more squares showing the dice roll needed to sprint for each additional square up to two spaces.

Each player has a tackle zone which is basically the eight squares around him. If you start your turn with an opponent in your tackle zone you can make a block move.

If an opponent leaves or passes through your tackle zone then he must make an agility roll if he fails then he must make an armour roll to avoid injury and is placed face up on the board.

You can also have one player per turn perform a blitz attack which means he can move before blocking. This is great for catching players that have made a dash for your endzone.

Each player is activated and can move, block, foul, pass, blitz, hand off or retrieve the ball.
If you fail a move like blocking, passing or picking up the ball your turn ends regardless of whether you have moved all your players or not.

Each half is divided into eight turns in which both teams perform actions. So if I were playing you you'd move your stuff block, etc, then I'd do the same then the turn ends.

Once a touchdown is scored then play is returned to the half way scrimage line and the kick off starts again with the scoring player being the kicker.

Actions like blocking are performed with dice. You click, hear the dice roll and are presented with a result.

Red Skull means that your player is downed, yellow flash means his is down, yellow flash with exclaimation marks means he's down and stumbles, blue arrow is push back and red skull and yellow flash means that's you're both down.
You can increase the number of block dice by ganging up and having mulitple players in a tackle zone. Basically this results in more block dice being rolled and you can pick the best one.

It's all about tackle zones and trying to get your players into position to make your opponent make as many agility rolls as possible.

Injuries vary from knock out, badly hurt which means he misses the next game, broken neck which means he rolls +1 when injured from the next match on all the way up to dead.

I played some orc player online and the first blow of the match killed his blitzer outright. Great fun!

You also get apothicaries that allow you to reroll an ijury roll once a match, re-rolls that allow you to reroll the dice when sprinting, catching, passing, handing off or picking up the ball.

Players gain star player points for performing some actions and as they progress you get access to up to six skills.
You can also buy better armour when they reach veteran or star player status that improves their stats.

You can also perform one foul action per turn but if your player gets caught stamping on a downed player then he'll be sent off, but of course you can always bribe the ref before the game to get him to turn a blind eye. ;)

Secret weapons vary from the dwarf steamroller, gobbo chainsaw, pogo stick and fanatic ball and chain looney.
Gobbo chainsaws are really nasty but if you get caught using one of these you can get sent off.

Campaign play works in that you start in a charity cup with three other teams. You play off against them and work your way up the ranks.
Once you've completed the cup you are presented with other events and basically work your way up from cup to cup to get to the Blood Bowl.

It's a realy good game and as soon as I get the time I'm definately putting a new team together to get back into the board game.
