You know who I feel sorry for out of this, aside from his immediate family and close friends. . . The fans. No, not the run of the mill "oh, he was cool" fans. But the "I must see him at the O2 and spent thousands on ebay for tickets and will now only get the face value of the tickets back" fans. That must have been such a kick in the stones, eh?

Dave out.

on the radio early they were talking about this and said if you got your tickets from a 3rd party that you have no hope in hell of geting any money back.......... my mate was gutted at work he had a ticket to see him in the O2.. RIP jako.....

Unfortunately, I see backlash and controversy arising soon, some rumblings are already happening in the states, I don't know if they have gotten to the UK, EU, and OZ* yet. I wish some things would just go away, and people can remember that at one point he was a good musician.

*WTF does OZ mean? I have always wondered.

Respects to a troubled a soul,

unfortunately it seems his later years will always overshadow the great musical talent he had.

He inspired many musicians, and even though I am not a die hard fan I still appreciate the talent he shared with us all.

Well said Galikoe,

For all the controversy tht has surrounded him in recent years it is his music that should be remembered.

When i was a kid, his music created the modern pop lifestyle, he was the beginning of the modern pop songs and the musaic video,

A great singer, dancer, musician, but deep down a troubled soul, despite what some people think, and what the media say, without MJ our music would be very different today if it wasd nopt for his creativity and genius.

His music has created some of the best parodies by Weird Al Yankovich, some of the best music videos ever, although i never was a hard core fan of his work, (im a queen fan tbh) it was inspiring and thoughtful to a generation of singers and dancers across the world.

Rest in piece MJ and i wish your family all the best.

Sadly there is a lot to be made from the death of a famous person, look at elvis, his estate makes more now than at the height of his fame.

I just hope for the sake of MJ's bairns the rest of his family don't use the kids as a cash cow - given they will most likely inherit his estate, music, image rights, beatle song rights etc......if the papers are to be believed the vultures are already circling.

Well he was a musical geneous, and will be greatly missed, I'm one of the few members of this forum who remembers Elvis dying, my dad having to pull the car over in Nottingham to cry.

Just on a light note:

Brilliantly edited

EDIT: But unfortunately against the rules...

I still can't quite believe this has happened. Shows the difference between the death of a celebrity and the death of an icon. Sadly in these famous for 15 minutes BB days we have precious few icons left.

I cant believe he is dead... He such a wonderful singer. With him and Billy Mayes gone, the world seems darker and less colorful. (not being sarcastic)

Poor Billy Mays. And now Steve McNair. The world is getting dimmer and dimmer every day...

Never was a big MJ fan myself, not growing up in that era and all, but his songs were now what you could consider classics.
