Its been pretty much confirmed that he has indeed died. Please be respectful and NOT, derail this thread and keep it civil.

Digits, has given a last warning to anyone that does.

This is from the BBC article...

Michael Jackson taken to hospital

Michael Jackson was due to begin a series of comeback concerts. Pop star Michael Jackson has been rushed to hospital in Los Angeles with a suspected cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles Times reported that the 50-year-old singer was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home.

The paramedics performed CPR and took him to the UCLA medical centre, the newspaper says. Officials would not confirm if the CPR was successful. The star was due to begin a series of comeback concerts with an appearance at London's O2 arena on 13 July.

He has a history of health problems and has not completed a concert tour in 12 years. Michael Jackson's home is off Sunset Boulevard in Bel Air.

Saw it on CNN as well as BBC and Sky. General consensus appears to be that he aint dead yet, but as far as anyone actually knows he was found not breathing and take to hospital, nothing more. Given that he's probably in the care of some of the finest physicians on the planet, and he is only 50, I'd expect the chances of not-death to be good.

Dave out.

Yep reading back against the BBC (which have now updated the story on their website, so its not now the one that was posted at the top). He has not died, and the only unconfirmed report he actually has died is from TMZ.com.

I guess there'll be more news soon on the story.

Alot of places are saying he was in a deep coma and died at 3:15pm. LA Times, is where they are sourcing from.

Vry much depends how long he wasn't breathing Dave. More than 10 minutes and I doubt he would survive no matter how good the docs.

Shame. Also found out Farrah Fawcett has died.

Must admit im not a fan of Jackson, but he's still a huge icon. Be a shame if it's true, artists like him come along very rarely.

According to BBC News 24 the reports that he's dead are actually true. Seems he actually passed away a good two and a half hours ago...

Just been confirmed.

Beat me to it. MSNBC updated while I was eating dinner.

Also not a fan, but he was an extremely talented individual, who came up with some very memorable songs/performances.

And yes, as Digits pointed out Farrah Fawcett has also died; of cancer.

Really mate, did you have to stoop as low as that?

Can for once, we not have a thread in which we merely pay our respects, without the cheap shots and slander?

At any rate, Michael Jackson, RIP.

Whilst his later life wasn't always something to be proud of, his work in the 70's (with the jackson 5) and 80's was some of the best. Just hope the conspiracy theorists don't start another "Elvis lives" saga and let the poor family deal with it as they need.
