Some of you may have seen Commissar Molotov's general plog, contained somewhere in there are some wip pics of a pair of Inquisitorial warbands for use in games of Inquisitor at 28mm. Being the all round great guy I am, I offered to paint the warbands, so this thread will be collecting any wip's from myself and Molotov during the creation of the warbands, and anything else random we can think up. First up on the block are the as yet unnamed Sage and Cyber Mastiff. These two are getting done at the same time because of the huge amounts of metal on each - the Mastiff shouldn't take too long from here, while the Sage won't be too far behind. ![]() |

Nice to see this is finally underway! Steve is being incredibly generous, I must agree - though I have sweetened the deal for him somewhat! Steve's tackling the "dramatis personae" - some of the main player characters that'll be tearing things up in my Inquisitor campaign - hopefully I'll have the battle reports up here on the 'bunker for you guys to read through. But many of the lackeys and mooks who'll be cannon-fodder for the various sides will be getting done by myself and my friends Darren and Nick. Hopefully there'll be plenty of eye-candy for you guys! |

Yes! I'll be watching this log closely. With Mol's creative tastes in writing and modeling, and your awesome painting techniques this will be completely worthwhile. Guaranteed! |

Cheers chief, i've not got the option of shoddy work as there not my figs!
These 2 are stock figures apart from the head on the Mastiff, which is from a plastic Space Wolf backpack. The brass areas so far are basecoated with tin bitz and stippled with brazen brass and shining gold.
Yep, im that cheap.
Someone's getting a little excited aren't they? Nice to see people having fun. Im aiming to get all the metal finished on these two this evening, then it's onto detail. When I get something interesting to photograph i'll throw up a pic. |

Awesome, glad to hear it's continuing apace on your end. I'm crossposting your stuff on the Conclave (for the Inquisitor fans) and DakkaDakka (because Migsula and the '=][=munda' crew are there.) I'll let you know if they say anything worthwhile. I've not done too much today - I've assembled a Valkyrie and I've been working on the characters. The Necromunda Bounty Hunter with the shotgun has a background now! I'll probably send you a PM sometime soon.

I finally got to talk to my friend Darren, who is running an Inquisitor called Ferox, and managed to get some models of his warband in progress. He's a better painter than me! ![]() This is his Inquisitor, Ferox: ![]() ![]() And his Tech-Priest, Parragus (the blue skin is a result of being auto-sanguinated): ![]() ![]() And lastly (for now) a Torturer that I converted for him: ![]() ![]()

The Torturer is ace. Just needs a blood splattered white coat now. Been a bit busy the last few nights so progress has been slow, but had a bit of a burst of speed today - the sage and the cyber mastiff are finished. ![]() ![]() Not too sure whats next on the block, possibly a shotgun wielding merc...... |

Looking very nice! I think the faded green was a great choice, it allowed you to use the red on the pipes. I like how you've used both brass and silver for the bionics, too. As for Mourn - if he's next on your chopping block... I did like the idea of his armour being like that of Boba Fett's - I did find this reference picture that might be useful for you. I liked the chipped green trimmed with the red. Looking forward to whatever you decide, though! |

Thanks mate.
Cheers. If you want him in Boba's armour that shouldn't be a problem - a pale green undersuit (rotting flesh possibly) with a darker muted green on the plates (snot green with grey to mute the green) with some red gore edging and chipping? Need to play around with him a bit first so i'll probably start the paint work proper on sunday, let me know what you think of the colour idea. |

They look excellent. The skin is especially good, very natural looking. Though the doggy is my favourite of the two for some reason. |

I'm wondering if the fabric (between his breastplate and his waist, also on his legs) ought not to be bleached bone, dheneb stone, something along those lines. I found this picture on the ccmwiki that might help us plan colours on the model, possibly. Not sure about red chipping (unless I've misunderstood what you mean) but some of the details could perhaps be done in red - the centre bit of his respirator, or the details on his left thigh/his forearms, perhaps. I like the idea of a chipped paintwork style for his armour, showing the scrapes he gets into. |

I meant red edging to the plates then chipping as opposed to red chips. Also, did you think it should be dheneb stone/bleached bone instead of rotting flesh? I'll have a go at something with the pic and see what I come up with. Cheers Rictus! Edited by El Diablo, 26 Jun 2009, 11:33 PM.

Ah, sorry for not being clear - I was saying I reckoned that Bleached Bone/Dheneb Stone - something in that sort of off-white/cream range would probably be a good contrast with the muted green. Chipped red trim sounds good too! Looking forward to what you turn out, mate.

The torturer is quite simple, really - the head, arms and backpack come from the Catachan Command Squad's medic - the body and the legs come from the Cadian Command Squad. |
