Now I have everyone's complete and undivided attention, I'm starting a 3000 point (ish) mechanised Eldar force as I have finished (for now) my Flames of War and Fantasy armies, and as my 40k force is pure Grey Knights I need an army to actually win the odd fight. Would like comments/critiscism please! And yes I do like Banshees. A lot. ![]() Fire Dragon Squad: 192 points (10 Fire Dragons, including Exarch w/Dragon's Breath Flamer, Crack Shot and Tank hunters) Wave Serpent: 130 points (Twin Linked Shuriken Cannon, Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones, Alloy Rims) Banshee Squad: 192 points (10 Banshees, including Exarch w/Executioner, War Shout and Acrobatic) Wave Serpent: 130 points (Twin Linked Shuriken Cannon, Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones) Banshee Squad: 192 points (10 Banshees, including Exarch w/Executioner, War Shout and Acrobatic) Wave Serpent: 130 points (Twin Linked Shuriken Cannon, Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones) Pathfinder Squad: 192 points (8 Pathfinders) Avenger Squad: 140 points (10 Avengers, including Exarch w/Twin SC and Bladestorm) Wave Serpent: 165 points (Twin Linked Bright Lance, Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones) Avenger Squad: 140 points (10 Avengers, including Exarch w/Twin SC and Bladestorm) Wave Serpent: 165 points (Twin Linked Bright Lance, Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones) Avenger Squad: 140 points (10 Avengers, including Exarch w/Twin SC and Bladestorm) Wave Serpent: 165 points (Twin Linked Bright Lance, Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones) Avenger Squad: 140 points (10 Avengers, including Exarch w/Twin SC and Bladestorm) Wave Serpent: 165 points (Twin Linked Bright Lance, Vectored Engines, Spirit Stones) Fire Prism: 145 (Vectored Engines, Spirit Stone) Fire Prism: 145 (Vectored Engines, Spirit Stone) Fire Prism: 145 (Vectored Engines, Spirit Stone) Total: 3000 |

now why you clocking up a tourney list at 3000 pts? oh wait your not lol... as far as i can tell thats a pretty scary list, however at 3000 points i would focus less on getting the tanks in. I'd have thought if you only had half your squads in waveserpents then a) all your squads are not in pretty little armoured baskets and b) with fleet, you can time your assault carefully in a wave approach, annihilating all!!!!! plus you can get more troops choices in, at 3000 your gonna need all 6 if you want to be on objectives... hope that helps bro! |

Mechanised Eldar force ![]() If half are footslogging then they're going to get shot to pieces before they get anywhere as everything that can hurt infantry will be shooting them. The Pathfinders arn't mounted as they will be sitting behind the biggest rock they can find and pinning things to the floor in support of Stabby Elf Chicks, if I drop Serpents the Avengers are going to have to walk to objectives (and I lose anti-tank).

Maybe a farseer on Jetbike could be helpful to doom things for the banshees? Re-rolling to wound MEQs would make a hell'uva difference with power weapons at Str 3. Other then that, I think its cool, I would like to face it myself with my own Chaos Marines ![]() DK Edited by Death Korp, 8 Jun 2009, 08:39 AM.

"Other then that, I think its cool, I would like to face it myself with my own Chaos Marines" - now that my friend, sounds like a challenge. Seriously Fraser, you shouldn't really just focus on one type of thing in your force (says the guy building Deathwing :S ). Anyway, i believe that what Dave was trying to say was that if you had a couple of Avenger squads on foot, you could secure your back half of the table, add in a warwalker squadron, or a vyper squadron to give you a bit more firepower to deal with things that your Anti-Tank shouldn't be shooting at, but you have no mid level weaponary to deal with, etc, etc. Versilitility mate, look it up (if i've spelled that correctly), at least you haven't just taken Two Farseer, spammed Banshees, and then taken the minimum of everything else. Oh yeah, whatever happens to the TWINS anyway? edit: BTW Fraser, when you have this army, the next time you come over, we ARE driving up to leeds so you can face Death Korps ![]() -Sachiel Edited by Sachiel, 8 Jun 2009, 08:53 AM.

But then I lack a decent stabbing character to stab with.
It's more fun to secure your back half of the table ![]()
You should see my BFG Eldar list, you'll never whine about Necrons again
