Aussie seeks help from a Pom; SAS platoon structure

Hey all,

For my next trick... And I call it a trick because I can miraculously turn solid cash into lead
I'm looking at 28mm modern wargaming and stumbled accross these minis from TAG and they managed to tip me over the edge.

What I need a Pom to tell me is what the platoon structure of an SAS platoon is. So, number of men to a platoon. Squad size. Fireteam load out. That kinda thing.

Cheers,
Freeo

Just a suggestion try looking up,

"SAS: Phantoms of War: A History of the Australian Special Air Service" by David Murray Horner

Gives you a lot of information on the structure of the platoons when they were first set up in 1957 in Australia, it gives a great breakdown of the sections of the platoons. Also a good read if your interested, just browsed through my copy and found roughly what your after, starts at page 40.

You could probably Google the name of the book and it should come up with a Google books link which will let you read the book online in a pdf format.

Hope it helps and im not a Pom :P

I know wikipedia has this info because I looked it up myself when I was in an IG-buying mood. Being a civilian I can't vouch for its accuracy, but probably a good place to start.

@Freebooter: Eureka also do 28mm SAS troops (and bikers, and the 6 wheeled ATV support thingy).
