Honestly cant speak regarding the ravenguard, but in terms of tau, it seems pretty solid. My main advice would be to arm the crisis suits with the tried and tested plasma rifle, missile pod and multitracker loadout, will give you more range and greater killing power against whatever your taking out with those fusion blasters (MEQs, light armour), if you want to increase the killing power against infantry simple swap out the plasma rifle for a burst cannon.

The main advantage of the fireknife (PR, MP, MT) is that it kills at range, which is something none of your suits do. Against your list with almost any army my initial response to your close range attack would be assault, and then you can just wave bye bye to those suits.

At 1.5k i normally field two hammerheads as well, because railguns are simply devastatingly good at what they do. If you are going to take hammerheads then disruption pods are a must for the 4+ cover save you get from any shot over 12 inches away :)

For the ravenguard I would suggest looking at taking less upgrades, elites, fast attack and adding in another tactical squad. Troops are essential in 5th ed and two sqauds just isnt enough to take and hold enough objectives to win most games. All your opponent has to do is reduce one squad to non scoring leaving you with one troops, meaning you definately cant hold enough objectives to win.

That vanguard squad is a third of your army in 5 models with a 3+ save, way too vulnerable! They look dead hard but if they get killed thats it really.
