Well I am playing in a local campaign and have gotten two games in one against a grey knights player and the other against a trynid player. My question is this: I have a scout squad in a landspeeder storm the squad consist of 5 models with 2 shotguns, 2 bolters, and 1 heavy bolter. The landspeeder has the assault cannon on it as well. In both games I moved shot with the assault cannon and troops inside due to it being open top. Am I doing this correctly via the rule book page 70 minibook. I am making sure that I move at times flat out to get the cover save but then I do not shoot the assault cannon. But the models inside shoot as normal correct? I know several quesitons here. The only reason I am asking is because in both games I took out almost whole squads with this loadout and for its point cost seems to be very effective. I am worried my gaming buddies have relized this as well since several on them were taking notice of the game....and I did hear "If he plays that with me its getting shot down first turn.". So clearly this is a unit to watch out for I just want some opinions on if I am using this correctly? |

I'm afraid you've been playing it incorrectly. I don't know the exact page but in the transport vehicle section of the rulebook there's a part about passengers firing from a vehicle. It says you can't fire any weapons if the vehicle moved over 6", and you count as moving if the vehicle moved, so you can't fire heavy weapons from a moving transport. Hope that helps. |

Ah ok found it so basiclly assault weapons could still shot there maximum so the shotguns are ok, the bolters may shot 2 shots at half there distance and the heavy bolter may not shot. Well that makes more sense to me the only thing I was doing wrong was shoting the heavy bolter then. Thanks. |

question there is 'is a scout move' before the movement phase added to the total distant moved or is it totally seperate for calculating distant travelled before shooting? |

Well i would think it would be seperate to the actual move distance since it occurs before the first move correct? |
