Entertainment officer...Meet the gang cos the boys are here.....
RASC (as was ) he went off the day efore the end of it If I recall correctly didnt fancy going to wales (i'm not going there....which Ironically was what he said) and so switched to the tank corps then transfered again later to the inteligence corps and then was doing 'weird stuff in greece and the balkans.

The fact of the matter is that like it or not the third reich is the subject of of more plastic models than any other conflict in history. look to the range of any plastic model company (with the possible exception of airfix) and you will find that it takes up 2/3 of their range , tamiya and dragon to name but 2. it is a source of interest for many reasons from the purely technollogical, many german tanks are Iconic and their design greatly influences todays tanks, to the 'how the hell did they lose?'. The concept of WWW2 is borne out of popular fiction, Hellboy! that Zombie thing 'the outpost?', raiders of the lost arc even. In all of these it is used to personify 'evil' and at a guess this is probably no different.

so feel no guilt and play on fellas

that it is, i've got it its pretty good in fact the sort of ghost soldiers is just the sort of crazy thing the nazi's would have tried to make.

I must say this thread has turned out to be pretty positive, me and dave defended ourselves with out resorting to threats of violence lol, a lot more ppl are interested in the WWW2 stuff and we got some good war stories to boot :)

my grand parents were jus to young to fight, tho my great granddad fought in WW1 was gassed too, and some of my other distant relatives like uncles of my grandparents were crews in lancaster bombers and one was on a destroyer.

Erm at what point did anyone start glorifying the nazis and start planning the fourth reich?

[Edited, naughty naughty.]

I will however keep out of the "my daddy/granddady/Oldguard served in: as:" discussion, because that's a civil discussion, and therefore just down right silly.

My Nan lived around London in the war so she was bombed a few times. A V1 landed at the end of her street. Said if you could still hear the V1s you were fine coz they were still flying, its if they went quiet overhead (when their engine cut out) that you had to worry as thats when they fell.

@ Old Guard: Your dad was a badass. Those are some sweet campaigns there brosef. My Dad's granddad was too young to fight in WWII, but my other granddad was drafted, trained, and put on a troopship preparing for the invasion of Japan. Which was supposed to be the bloodiest fight in human history. I don't have any family members who were part of the greatest generation though...

About the Nazi thing. Yeah, the Nazi's did bad stuff, but since I think most of us agree that Nazi's are bad, we shouldn't dance around the fact Germany has had one of the most professional and able militaries the world has ever seen for centuries. They gave the Freaking ROMANS [Not on the floor please]. Thats an impressive blood line if you ask me.

@ Zealot: Grow up bro, everyone knows someone who has been in a war. It sucks. War sucks. Death sucks. You don't get special treatment. You don't have to play.

Come on over to a real city in the US and tell someone their opinion is worthless twaddle and you'll get yourself choked out pussy.

This is why people [well, someone needs a cool off period]ing hate Americans. Because you say stupid [Not on the floor please] like that. Opinions are worthless unless you have the merit and ability to back them up with facts and power. You don't know what the hell your talking about. Good Riddance.

Gav, I think we've got past that (aside from the people who missed the fun and want to mop up). I think we're mainly at the ROFL and "oooh, what is this WWW2 madness, anyway" stage.

Oooh, just found out that Lisa's granda' was at D-Day. On the Beaches. Like a hard mofo. Respect. And Lisa doesn't like zealot. Like, really intensely.

Dave out.

Well this was a weird thread to wake up to :P

I quite like the look of WWW2, I'd play it if I were able to mail order it all in, and I see nothing wrong with it.

As for ancestor-bashing, great-grandfather and his three brothers were on the Somme, great uncle was in Borneo and Tobruk, girlfriend's grandfather flew something over Germany (could've been a lancaster, but then again it could have not)

Anyway back on track for me, don't feel bad about getting some cool minis and painting them, long as you're not lining them up under your favourite swastika icon before you duck-walk off to your next rally...

getting back to the origanal point

i argree that the perisicution of jews and to holocluast or the war for that matter was not "cool"

BUT the point made was solely based on a mis conceived notion of a "SEMI-FANTASY" GAME which is not realy a valid point

So I ask a question have any of you play call of duty world at war nazi zombies a "SEMI-FANTASY" game? yes is it fun and cool? yes IS IT REAL? NO

it called being media smart

so next time zealot THINK of these questions
(gets of soap box)
