anyone else think WWWII is kinda... off?

I don't know, considering people are still alive that survived the holocaust, and the fact that Nazism still exists today, I won't be spending my money on this rubbish.

Thoughts?

Each to their own. Its not like the game is portraying what the Nazis did as good in any way as far as I know.

Dude, its not rubbish. And its not kinda "off". Its merely a fiction based on historical events. Much like 40K. With its Nazi Imperium. Get your facts straight, and don't bother posting worthless opinionated twadle. Nobody is saying they were cool or glorifying their actions.

im guessing this is aimed at me, dave and foot seen as we have all recently started WWW2

so basically your saying that WWW2 a sci fi wargame glorifies what hitler and the nazis did?

I think you are looking to deeply into it dude, tis jus a bit of fun and there are enough video games along a similar line such as castle wolfenstein, bloodrayne etc as well as movies hell look at the recent movie valkyrie it tried to glorify the generals who tried to kill hitler, where as in real life if they had killed him then it would have just become a military dictatorship with them replacing him meaning they were still evil.

And as to why do i collect the stuff, well its a different thing to GW i like the models and i've always loved and taken inspiration from the german look of world war 2, their tank designs etc as im sure many of the guys on here have. Doesn't mean that im some neo nazi who runs around sieg heiling

Well my grandpa was in Germany and he's really messed up from it. Maybe it depends on where you're coming from.

"Get your facts straight, and don't bother posting worthless opinionated twadle."

Welp, this is a conversation. Twenty bucks says you wouldn't say ANYTHING I said was 'worthless twadle' if you knew me in real life. Takes a big backbone to talk like that on the internet.

Hang on, you're the one who is placing acusational statements on a public forum. Statements which are both baseless and false. So yeah, in my books that does make it worthless twaddle.

Your argument seems to be solely based around a grave misunderstanding of the facts. WWW2 is not about making the nazis better. Its a "what if" of occult and technology loosely based on history. The same what if that gives the Americans angels and armoured mechs. If you're going to complain, please, as I said, get your facts right. Also, not all Germans were Nazis. The average Wermacht soldier was only following orders, same as every good Tommy, GI or conscript was when they commited brutal and blindly directed war crimes against the German people. Only reason we don't go on about that is because history is writen by the victor.

I agree with dave tho dude, its obvious this is aimed at us and ur practically accusing us of being Nazi's because we have some models of sci fi Nazi's . If we went by this then ppl who play germans in FoW or collect tank or historical models or even DoK who are influenced by the german look are all nazi sympathizers?

As dave says history is written by the victory, look at stalin he was as bad if not worse than hitler he had millions of his own ppl killed for opposing him, and the soviets were equally as bad to the germans when they drove them back to berlin as the germans were to them, 2 wrongs dont make a right

It's loosely based on one of the worst genicides/periods in any kind of 'recent' history, which makes it rubbish in my book.

Sorry you choose to get so offended. Come on over to a real city in the US and tell someone their opinion is worthless twaddle and you'll get yourself choked out pussy.

edit: it wasn't aimed at anyone. sry if you thought so

No. It. Isn't. Its based on "what if the war kept going but we had some cool science and occult stuff but so did the other guy". The Hollocaust was more or less over by that point, isn't covered in any of the setting and, as far as WWW2 is concerned, needn't have actually happened.

You're the one who got offended, we're merely exercising our right to not have our names slandered on a public forum. Surely thats in our of your constitutional ammendments?

Here's a link mate.

I have to say, when I first got WWWII models, about 4 months ago, I just thought "oh cool models, great casts" . The thought didn't pop into my head that these are nazis, only that its a good game with great models.

What they represent shouldn't be an issue. Most of us on here play 40k, which if you look into it is not a pretty thing. The Imperium of Man, while ok its not real, it essentially a Crusade led by one Man who wants to take over everything, something that is always considered "wrong" in real life. Yet we accept this without question in game form.

So if there is a game system that uses "nazis" why should it matter. There is nothing there that is saying we should forget those who were lost under the Nazi regime or anything of the sort. Its just a game, nothing more.

Check the first link, Gary. There is a link to every manufacturer with a site. Main comany is West Wind with their Secrets of the Third Reich. Could be where all the confusion came from. . .

Edit: Cheers Gav.
