This is not up for debate anymore cause it will just lead to bickering and hard feelings instead of painting progress. However to address this point. The scoring for FoW and Epic were actually proposed by people who paint and play said games... I agree that "done right" a base of 5 takes longer than a 28mm fig but will all entrants be "done right"? A three color minimum with a sanded base takes no time at all. I've done 20 bases in a weekend... (not well but I have... Prime coat, DA green, Boltgun on gun, company color on shoulder pad and done... The hardest part at that point is cleaning the base to sit down in the stand base...) those three color bases will count for the same points as oak leaf patterned SS. Is that fair to you? No. Is that fair to the 28mm painters? Absolutely not! And they will howl about it. This was as fair as we could make it to cover everybody. Ninja'd by Digits... Thanks guy...

Sorry for turning up late, didn't hear about this until yesterday. And yea, I am sorry about "complaining" about the points for FoW models. I just spoke from my own experiences and what I thought, it wasn't supposed to change anything in the point system or start a debate of any sort. I where just curious how you where thinking, and what you based the point system on. I am sorry if you took it the wrong way. And I agree totally with you dean... I am aware that if you just splash some colours here and there it takes no time at all, and it would be sad to see people do that to their models just to get some more points for their team. I guess I should have chosen to play a greatcoated russian strelvkoy instead of camoflauged Fallschirmjägers ![]() Thank you. Now I now that there where some more thought behind it then just using the "they are smaller" argument (Which many do in other circumstances, nothing bad about you). I am most satisfied =) |

No sweat! No offence taken, I just wanted to clarify what we were thinking to everybody before the 28mm guys trotted out the "BUT THEY'RE SO SMALL" argument too. |

Well, as you hadn't specified WHERE in England, can I propose we put you in Europe? They could do with a boost. |

i proposed the half point, obviously it swings both ways, a 40k painter could take longer to paint a space marine that a FoW player 2 bases of infantry, i suggested it based on my own experience, obviously if you take longer then half a point may not seem worth it, but i think when you take everything in to account (quantity/size/cost in game/quantity needed quality of model (details to paint etc) and so on) it fits the rest of the scoring for FoW. |

Indeed it does. Right, no more questioning the rules!!!! You're wasting valuable painting time! (and my patience - I might start deducting team points....) Edited by Digits, 2 Jun 2009, 09:43 PM.

I believe from the rules you have to forfeit one of your testicles. I could be wrong though.... Edited by the_great_gonzo, 19 Jun 2009, 12:26 PM.

I am not to keen on the points for FoW models though. Not that it matters realy... But time wise, painting one base of FoW models takes just about as much time as with one 40k model (Always depends on how much time you put on them, but I would say most paint 4-5 small figures in the same time as one big). So I feel that 1/2 point for every base isn't to fair... That would give a regular 10 base Fallschirmjäger platoon only 5 points, just as much as a 5 man space marine squad. And trust me, you usualy paint 5 space marines/guardsmen/whatever quicker then 10 bases of FoW models!

Any takers?
