Yeah it shows that a Space Station can destroy an Constitution Class (Refit) rendition of the Enterprise Big Woo! ![]() As it was in the atmosphere it was most likely unshielded as well. I'd like to see it do that to another Space Station such as DS9, or the Sovereign Class Enterprise

Also a Taff not a gog. so being a smoggy you must be a arrogant, self rightous, know it all , hang on a minute your already that. Also the enterprise constitution class can't enter a planets atmosphere and sustain flight, even an intrepid class would have to land, only the smaller class ships can sustain planet based flight. Also would like to see what Luke could do with photon torepdo, instead on the puny thing he used. Also if a the enterprise was destroyed the explosion would also have a much larger explosion, those trooper would have been vapourised and a large part of the planet. Well, you should do it more often, just to prove it to us No...I'm joking. And staying out of this arguement from now on, but I'll just say this:Star Wars has plucky teenage optimism. By the laws of Hollywood, that means it automatically wins. |

i've not seen any battlestar galactica, but i've read one of the books and it was good. im still voting for star wars, although the clone wars movie and episode 1 were pathetic. which shoddy droids? R2-D2 is a legend. |

well to start with i was just trying to explain why i thought that hyperdrive was faster than warp... then someone threw in that you had uniforms... and i couldnt resist a bit of a dig ![]() I have no idea what a taff or a gog is, and dont really want to. Also i prefer to describe myself as a snowboarder now (it will take a while for me to revert to being half smoggy, even though i actually live in a village 10 miles from the nearest smog) bad luck mate, they are generally even more arrogant and cocky (just ask lukas he will give you the whole nine :P) however when it comes to star trek i freely admit that you clearly know your stuff. But do you actually know how powerful a proton torpedo is relative to a photon torpedo (I mean actual numbers, payload equivalencies, energy, not just "well a photon did this a proton did this")? If the answer to the above is yes then can you tell me what the smallest vehicle a 6 round photon torpedo launcher can be installed onto for offensive purposes is, and its dimensions relative to an x-wing strike fighter? Or in fact how maneouvreable this ship is compared to said x-wing? (again, numbers not "it did this" or "that did that")And then we can discuss which is more powerful, as we will have reasonable comparison between the two weapons and their methods of delivery. While we are at it you could supply us all with the turning arc, speed and dimensions of a photon torpedo and a proton torpedo, and then we could look at the viability of an attack run on a star destroyer with 12 of these ships versus 12 x-wings and work out which is the more viable, tactically flexible and effective means of attacking a star destroyer or a borg cube, or any other ship you care to name. Essentially my point is this: To bash star wars as being worse than star trek because its not based on this or something does that is completely groundless unless you can base it on sound fictional data from both universes, otherwise its just a fanwar, and they are quite bluntly irresolvable. Now i love star wars, but i also love star trek and firefly, the list could go on. But where you said warp is faster because its based on real science, and i stated relative speeds to cross a galaxy, surely the backing for my argument is sounder than yours? Either way im gonna drop this now, as it was fun to start with. Edited by Dave38x, 14 May 2009, 07:25 PM.
