wolvie, star wars has hand held disintegrator weapons too...

and besides, we all know parking up an imperial battlefleet would equal rape for either of the above universes..

You just know that the Klingons would be wearing Ewok capes in very short order, and once the borg had assimilated a death star - it would be good night Star Wars. Although it would be good to see Jedi's going up against Klingons.
I'd also like to see a three way fight between a shadow fleet, some imperial star destroyers and a federation fleet led by Sisko.

disagree, it doesnt take 75 years for a ship to cross from one side of the galaxy to the other in star wars. ergo, hyperdrives are faster.

just because warp is scientifically possible, and is a multiple of lightspeed it doesnt make it faster. because even walking to the shops is one. And hyperdrives must also generate similar speeds, apart from travelling through hyperspace...

Hyperdrive is a construct of science fiction to describe travel fast in space, with no science behind it ergo does not exsist ergo hyperspace is actual at a stand still, warp speed is based of actual scientific thought and theory.

So by the sheer tit;r of science fiction genre STar trek wins as the fiction it is based up is actually scientific

That's not really a fair argument, after all warp engines don't exist either. Just because Star Trek uses scientific terms doesn't mean it's any more realistic than Star Wars. I don't think teleporters, holodecks that can kill you or replicators can be explained scientifically. Or the fact Star Trek weapons and ships make so much noise in the vacuum of space.

So when comparing a hyperdrive to a warp engine, we must refer to the ficition, not the science.
