Isn't there a group shot?
Or can someone tell me who is who on the pictures...
No group shot when I was there, plus someone lost the sticky name labels so I spent most of the day nervously asking folk who they were, I only got round to meeting Digits right at the end, and he was one of the guys I wanted to say HI to the most, never even commented on his stuff, more of a Hi, Bye really!

I'm the handsome chap in the ill fitting yellow Gonzo Tee, I have retired it now as it is a bit too Jimmy Summerville tight/small!

Ahhh now I know who Gonzo is. Wish I'd known on the day as I'd have said hi.

Darkseer sat next to us for lunch and didn't ask who people were until I mentioned it :)

I spent most of the day talking to people not knowing who the hell they were. It was only really in the last hour I started to figure out who was who. But as Jase says, I was so busy gaming until about 3.30pm that I just didn't get chance.

Didn't get chance to check in yesterday, pleased to see so many pics of our apoc game (I am the guy with glasses and hair tied back, being subjected to Grizz's mind powers), because I pretty much forgot about my camera for most of the day.

I spent most of the day shuffling an endless horde of gaunts through minefields (that's the trouble with playing on a realistically modelled fortified table). I started with about 200 models on the table and removed more than 100 casulaties in the two full turns that we managed to play. We stopped at the beginning of the third turn when it was pretty clear who was winning and we were all exhausted. In particular, moving, fleeting and charging all those gaunts was like trying to animate army ants in stop motion, and didn't leave me much time to think about anything else.

Was an exeedingly characterful game in which Grizz sat tight and blazed away at my horde and they kept coming back for more. I didn't embarrass myself too badly with the 5th edition rules (I think we were all struggling a bit), but I can only blame extreme sleep deprivation for the quantity of my own army's rules that I just forgot in the heat of the moment (gargoyles have bio-plasma, deathspitters are blast weapons (!) etc.).

On Monday I realised that strategic reserves in Apoc come on automatically, what the heck was I rolling for them for??? So I missed out on getting the carnifex brood onto the table, which is my only regret and entirely my own daft fault.

Here's a pic of the valiant marines holding off the horde. Grizz's Fire Lords in particular were untouchable, chewing through loads of warriors and the red terror without taking damage.

Thanks to Grizz, Maelstrom and Silent Gallows for a great good-natured game. I'd love to play you again, though perhaps at a more manageable scale next time.

Thanks again to all who organised, Digits for giving me a lift and Old Guard for letting us use his great table.

That's an incredibly sensible suggestion, I'll have to think about it. This is the first time I've got the whole lot on the tabletop, I really underestimated just how long it takes to do everything!

edit: I can get enough for the whole swarm for less than 15 quid, that's not bad at all. The only diadvantage is that they'll be even more closely packed than before (and suffering badly from blast weapons), but the gains in convenience would make up for it frankly.

Also, yeah, I was having trouble with usernames/real names. It's ok to have a made up name on here but in real life it weirds me out a bit!

New shoes Andy? Dare I ask? Wish I could've been there, sadly the need to work a set of nights which pays more than usual and then get the following three days off kinda has to take precidence. Never mind, next time!
good form prevents me from commenting further (I sound like captain hook! Codfish!!) tis not on to extract the excess bodily fluid from one of our party.
