Okay chaps and lovely, sweet, honourable ladies! The time for Planetary Empires is finally here!

With regard to Planetstrike being released in June (if the area manager for Scotland and one of the number crunchers are to be believed), the Planetary Empires expansion pack, which was seen at Conflict Scotland: 08, is finally due for release in July of this year- a month after Planet Strike I believe.

The box contents are similar to that of Mighty Empires, but obviously with new designs. It contains the same size tiles, but with ones for cities, add ons for hive cities and the like.

It is designed for being used to map out campaigns, and is just a very nice thing to have as a GW enthusiast.

The boxset, along with all new tiles and new things to put in tiles (), the boxset contains the new Planetary Empires rulebook - what was seen at Conflict Scotland: 08. All the changes needed - such as taking out the Baneblade artwork in the workshop - have been made.

I hope you're all as excited about this release, and about the release of Planet Strike, as I am. It'll add real flavour and organisation to any Basement Gamers Clubs/Clubs campaigns.

Cheers for the info. I'm looking forward to both this and planet strike, and glad to hear it's on the way. There has of course, never been anything stopping any of us from inventing our own scenarios and campaigns, and have enjoyed doing so myself, but I'm definitely looking forward to having some professionally produced guidelines and ideas for future efforts.

Some kind of campaign system is never a bad thing, although I will get it just because the hex tiles remind me of coutless world conquest games I designed as a kid.

Why did the book need a picture of a baneblade taking out?

I'm guessing that it isn't official, thus having GW imagery was a breach of copyright? :)

Why did the book need a picture of a baneblade taking out?

it wasn't relevant - was needing taking out.

And yes, it is official, hence why it was seen at Conflict Scotland 2008 :D

so whats the diff between planetary empires and planetstrike?

I also have a question regarding the existing expansions:

WH40k.
1. Cities of Death
2. Apocalypse

Now planetary empires is mentioned as the fourth expansion... would that make the third planetstrike?

Basically Planetary Empires is the 40K equivalant to Fantasy's Mighty Empires. It's really all you need to help run a campaign, hence the map tiles and assorted bits and pieces that can be placed on them. That's the short of it.

And yes, as far I can tell, Planet Strike would be the third expansion.
