Description of army tactics below the list. 1750 pt Space Marine Armylist HQ Chaplain - Digiweapons - 110 pts Troops Tac Squad 1 - 10 Marines - Flamer, Plasma Cannon, Sergeant has Power Sword - 190 pts Razorback - Twin Linked Assault Cannon - 75 pts Tac Squad 2 - 10 Marines - Flamer, Plasma Cannon, Sergeant has Melta Bombs - 180 pts Razorback - Twin Linked Assault Cannon - 75 pts Tac Squad 3 - 10 Marines - Flamer, Multimelta, Sergeant has Melta Bombs - 175 pts Elites 5 Assault Terminators - 3 THSS, 2 LC - 200 pts Dreadnaught - Multimelta, CCw - 105 Drop Pod - Locator Beacon - 45 pts Fast Attack 7 Vanguard Veterans - Jump Packs, Power Weapons, Sergeant and one other marine have Melta Bombs - 335 pts Heavy Support Land Raider - Multimelta - 260 pts The idea behind the list is for the Tac Squads, Razorbacks and Land Raider to act as a firebase, while still being capable of advancing into melee if the opposition has more pewpew. The Terminators would be in the Land Raider as a countercharge unit for assault elements that come after my Tac marines. If the enemy attack is repulsed, a combat squad can jump into a Razorback to contest or capture objectives. Speaking of which, those objectives will normally be cleared via the Dreadnaught and Vanguard dropping in. The Dreadnaught is actually a distraction, capable of smoking a vehicle when he comes down, and necessary to deal with as he's quite capable of tyiong up a squad in combat who don't have the appropriate weapons to deal with him. The real threat comes from the Locator beacon on the drop pod though, which can bring down the Vanguard right on target for a Heroic Intervention. Any thoughts? |
