Being relatively new to this website, at least as someone with a login now, I was wondering if anyone had done a scenario similar to Black Hawk Down. I know that there was a Dam Busters one and there is a Zulu one. I personally like the idea of a downed Thunderhawk with a squad of Space Marines / Imperial Guard / Scouts racing to the rescue before the Orc / Tyranid menace reaches them... Again, apologies if this is already on the site... |

Not seen one, but nice idea. What springs to mind is a downed Valkyrie, with a couple of squads of stormtroopers entering via other Valkyries. Of course, for true authenticity, you could get some Vulture's with the new Punisher upgrade kits as support. Now you've got me thinking. |

Cool. I was sat the other night looking at some of the projects and I thought it would be ideal for a city style battle. I'd love to see a bunch of IG vehicles doing a route of death down a street to get to their fallen comrades... If you start the project let me know. I've just got into the habit with my 7 yr old. Still getting my head round a lot of it, especially the vehicle combat side of it. |

I doubt I'll start it, got about 11 other projects on the go currently so I just can't squeeze it in, but cracking idea anyway. |

Oh my God, quite impressed being the nebie and all... How come it took a dullard like me to think of this one. I'd better tell the wife - she'll never believe someone listened to something I suggested... It never happens at home!!! |

Gaunts as the Skinnies, just a mad rabble really. Hmm, I think IG vets would better as the guys in the downed birds, with Stormtroopers as the Rangers moving to secure them. Then as you say Andy, Deathwatch Marines maybe as the DF guys. |

I reckon Orks as the skinnies, rather more malevolent and somehow behave more like aggressive but not particulalry talented individuals! Also the rusty weapons, cityfight etc suits them. I have a few arabic buildings built out of old computer packing material. Ill post them up in my plog soon |

I've thought about this before, I must say. I would go with orks against guard hardened veterans trying to get to the crash site, using the crashed FW valk. Use casualty markers as the points to control in the middle with a couple of vets/storm troopers already defending it. |

Loads of ideas, all of them very cool. I just like the idea of a couple of sm scouts with sniper rifles holding back the horde coming at the downed bird. Don't know how the game would pan out but I think the board would look very smart. |

Me and a mate on Warseer attempted this before. It was 2 guard armies - he used the D-99 list from IA4, I was using the standard guard codex, but maxed out on troops and conscript squads etc. Obviously I was the traitors... |

In our club they played a scenario: Thunderhawk down. It were some space wolves scouts in a crashed vehicle, with an line of rhino's and other Space Marine stuff that came to free them. The mob were Orcs, Tau and dark eldar. But without any vehicles... |
