Prince of Sambuca - black lightning! Posts: 7,529 Group: Super Admin Member #99 Joined: September 28, 2007	Well, as the title says, no tanks, lasguns flying machines or power armour. No God Emperor of Man, no Stompa's, no Baneblades or terminators. I'm in pure virgin square-based territory. I was tempted by lots of different armies; Dwarves, Skaven, Vampire Counts, Ogres..... ....in the end I have narrowed down my final choice to two totally different armies: Warriors of Chaos; ONLY Warriors, knights, charriots etc, no marrauders, hounds or what ever else the good book has in it (maybe a giant). IF I do this army it will end up being an undivided army, with a unit of warriors from each of the major powers (painting wise). Empire; cannons, hand guns, greatswords, knights, pistoliers and anything else funky-empire-tastic. As for force colour scheme I was thinking of quatered purple and white, a bit of a change for me, I like purple. Where you fit in; I have assembled a cannon and crew and a couple of chaos warriors to act as a test bed. Which ever I like the most and receives the best feedback will end up being my "Fantasy Challenge" army of choice. Picts to follow when I have achieved something!

Posts: 7,529 Group: Super Admin Member #99 Joined: September 28, 2007	Sheep/Doghouse; I'll paint up a couple of test mini's first, see what catches my imagination the most then decide! Digits; I had picts to upload from lastnight but never got round to it (read beer). The wind god has been kind today, all my test subjects are now black as coal, so too are 57 FoW Germans (doing the undercoated conga now!), I'm going to be busy! I'll knock out one purple sample model tonight, as I also like the red/white quatered design off of the Empire boxset (Marienburg??? SP???), don't want to paint them all and find out I don't like purple/prefered the red.

Be interesting to see how you do with some Fantasy style madness, quite like the idea of the purple, don't see much of it around regularly. I am resisting joining this challenge myself, so go for the Empire and let me live through your hard work instead

However, given the way that this challenge is going it could end up being "just another chaos army". Empire, however, we don't have many of them. Posts: 7,529 Group: Super Admin Member #99 Joined: September 28, 2007	Right then pagans i have a vague pic of what I've done so far, sadly nothing tonight as I had work to do (Yes Mortare I do actually work, being an IT monkey I get to "Multi-task" so can google aswell as work!) Crassius: I haven't turned my back on 40k completely, I'm just going half rice/half chips for the time being Xbanditsx: woodelves, I think you've posted in the wrong thread fella! HMD: I had a similar idea to your own, I'd have to do a very special WoC army as I don't have the same sort of fan base or talent as Digits and a couple of the other WoC ploggers! It might just have to be empire for me then! So what I have done so far, just to keep digits happy! a pair of fully ranked up warriors, a whole two minis! A Cannon. I have rotated this in photobucket but it is still coming out on its side, stupid picture. All undercoated. Crappy pics I'm afraid, I've lost my camera's charger and have to make do with my i-phone, not quite 10M pixels! More to follow tomorrow, I promise I will paint.

I'm fast concluding that converting marauders, apart from a few furs, is pointless when you're ranking up figures. If you do chaos, it would be a pleasure to one day ride alongside you, if you do empire, I'm sure you will create a unique looking force, but I will be obliged to slaughter every last dog!!!!

I'll try to get some better pics, DOES the purple go with the white??? Seeing them in the flesh, I think I'll collect EMPIRE! C&C welcome as always. No more painting for me for about 5 days, I'm off to Bonnie Scotland for 3-4 days, so no updates as I won't have ready internet access! BOO!
