Me and Mawa first started this absolutely yonks ago. It was originally going to be built to a specific plan, in 2' x 4' sections, but after we demolished our initial progress (there was some nice stuff, but we weren't happy overall), we decided to go modular to reduce the chance of it getting boring to play on.

So, courtesy of some cracking work by Mawa, here is the first 12" x 12" ruin in action:

Really look forward to getting the entire board looking like that!

Anyway, shamed by Mawa's efforts, I've now dug out our WIP manufactorum to be my first contribution. This is what we created when we first started the board:

Originally, it was to be situated backing up to the edge of the board, so that one might imagine the ruined section to continue beyond. Now it is to be a stand-alone module, I can't help feeling it looks a bit small, especially to have that bridge and such a massive fan atop what is now the main structure (previously that section could have just been a big power generator or something), so I've bought a couple more kits and plan to add another storey, something like this:

Unfortunately, tonight's attempt to begin dismantling and rebuilding was hampered by me not having a saw, with my rotary tool (even on the lowest speed) just making a mess by melting the plastic and being hard to cut straight with. So instead, I started to think about what some machinery to go in the ruined section might look like, and came up with a couple of quick sketches:

I've always wanted to do some kind of specimen tank, and figue this is a good opportunity. I imagine the victim to be provding some kind of energy for other machinery/apparatus. Meanwhile the thing on the right is just random gubbinz inspired by bits from the CoD kit and some GW artwork.

Real progress will begin when my saw arrives...

You guys have got to do this and update regularly. The Manufactorum is absolutely brilliant. So stealing the ideas from that.

Cheers for the comments guys.

This hasn't progressed any since I first posted, mainly because of Ammoriss, with Mawa painting loads as usual and my one squad being quite a lot by my standards!

Anyway, now that's done with for now (and I have my saw), there's no excuse!

I've just ordered a metre of 40mm diameter, 3mm thick plastic tube to make the tank. Would have preferred thinner plastic, but that's all there was at that sort of diameter. In the meantime I'll try to do some work on the rest of the building.
