In you general log like Digits said... This project is a long term project and I kinda see it running alongside whatever else you have going.... If you choose to do it that way...

Cause Dave needs a bunch more Drogians done.... :P

And I dont really see many of you just dropping what you have going just to do this army..... If you do then more power to you.... But after 6 months of Eldar and a workable army I think that a slower approach will keep people from burning out as fast....

Edit: and yes we will have a summary thread somewhere but we wont worry about that till after the Bash and after the "Tale of" wraps up. Lets focus on first things first.....

Little edit there mate its wolvie for short not wolfy, a wolverine is a type of the weasel family very vicious not a wolf not even canine.

Here lets this from the net help:

Posted Image

he wolverine (Gulo gulo) is the largest land-dwelling species of the Mustelidae or weasel family (the Giant Otter is largest overall) in the genus Gulo (meaning "glutton"). It is also called the Glutton or Carcajou. Some authors recognize two subspecies: the Old World form Gulo gulo gulo and the New World form G. g. luscus. A third subspecies limited to Vancouver Island (G. g. vancouverensis) is also occasionally described; however, craniomorphic evidence suggests that the Vancouver Island wolverines are properly included within G. g. luscus.

Anatomically, the wolverine is a stocky and muscular animal. It has brown fur with stripes of dull yellow along the sides. Its fur is long and dense and does not retain much water, making it very resistant to frost, which is common in the wolverine's cold habitat. (For these reasons, the fur has been traditionally popular among hunters and trappers as a lining in jackets and parkas, especially for wear in Arctic conditions). The adult wolverine is about the size of a medium dog, with a length usually ranging from 65 – 87 cm (25 – 34 inches), a tail of 17 – 26 cm (7 – 10 inches), and a weight of 10-25 kg (22 – 55 lb), although exceptionally large males can weigh over 31 kg (70 lb).[3] The males are as much as 30 percent larger than the females. In appearance, the wolverine resembles a small bear with a long tail. It has been known to give off a very strong, extremely unpleasant odor, giving rise to the nicknames "skunk bear" and "nasty cat." Wolverines, as other mustelids, possess a special upper molar in the back of the mouth that is rotated 90 degrees, or sideways, towards the inside of the mouth. This special characteristic allows wolverines to tear off meat from prey or carrion that has been frozen solid and also to crush bones, which enables the wolverine to extract marrow.[4][5]

The wolverine is, like most mustelids, remarkably strong for its size. It has been known to kill prey as large as moose, although most typically when these are weakened by winter starvation or caught in deep snow. Wolverines inhabiting the Old World (specifically, Fennoscandia) are more active hunters than their North American cousins.[6] This may be because competing predator populations in Eurasia are not as dense, making it more practical for the wolverine to hunt for itself than to wait for another animal to make a kill and then try to snatch it. They often feed on carrion left by wolves, so that changes in the population of wolves may affect the population of wolverines.[7] Wolverines are also known on occasion to eat plant material.[8]

Armed with powerful jaws, sharp claws, and a thick hide,[9] wolverines may defend kills against larger or more numerous predators.[10] There is at least one published account of a 27-pound wolverine's attempt to steal a kill from a black bear (adult males weigh 400 to 500 pounds). Unfortunately for the mustelid, the bear won what was ultimately a fatal contest.[11] Wolverines have been known to harass and attempt to intimidate wolves, cougars and bears.

Mating season is in the summer, but the actual implantation of the embryo (blastocyst) in the uterus is stayed until early winter, delaying the development of the fetus. Females will often not produce young if food is scarce. The wolverine gestation period is 30-50 days. Litters of typically two or three young ("kits") are born in the spring. Kits develop rapidly, reaching adult size within the first year of a lifespan that may reach anywhere from five to (in exceptional individuals) thirteen years.[citation needed]

Adult wolverines have no natural predators, though they do come into conflict with (and may be killed by) other large predators over territory and food. Juveniles are more vulnerable; infants (kits) have been known on occasion to be taken by predatory birds such as eagles.[12]

Even when I'm drunk I find you an absolute dullard Wolvie.

Damn you David!!!!!!!!!!!! (I bet he's got shares in GW and won't let on) I cant believe I'm doing this, I know even less about the fantasy game than I do 40K!!!and yet (curses) I find my self being lured to EMPIRE!
2 themes spring to mind, either an English civil war feel (thought youd like that one) or a city state of mine own creation based around my favourite area in the world in the South of France and positioned on the empire/bretonnia border (so there will be a bit of an influence and a Frenchy sounding name)
I have one box of empire already that I bought for parts, mainly the replacement head I needed for Usakar Creed, so they can be the test minis and of course empire will very soon be all plastic. Hurrah! and I really like those new plastic bowmen figures.
I make it clear now this is a side project and so is consequently going to be slooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww. I also anticipate that I will regularly fall behind.
as this could be too much of a distraction I am starting nothing until after the Bash (way too much to do).

Damn and blast!

On another note all I can think of with regards to the wolfy/wolvie debate is ......big weasel and I've never seen anyone look less like Hugh Jackman! :D

Hmmm, Frenchy themed Empire eh Andy? Sounds remarkably interesting. Whats the plan with that (cos you should obviously go for it). Empire with a few odd names or trying to do a psuedo Bret list using the Empire book. Sounds amazing either way though!

James, do the purple and yellow Empire guys. We need more Empire to fight Chaos with! I think you're looking for Marienberg?

And for adjudication purposes. . .

This is the area I mean Dave, I went to school there, I spend all my holidays there, and come the time this is were I will take up 'permanent residence' if you catch my drift.
It will be a poor/agricultural city state and so I may use components from the bretonnian men at arms for example for the common folk 'militia' like troops and then the rich town folk and standing army. so some very bright crimson and gold and some quite drab figures ARghhhhhhhh i have scenery for the bash to do stop distracting me!

Mmmm hmm, I concour Dave. Brightly coloured Empire. . . Not quite with you on that one Andy, old bean. . .

Seriously though, sounds good. An idea to look at would be using huge (25+ models) units of militia troops and small (10 to 15 models) units of state troops and greatswords to back them up. The huge units of peasantry does all the hard work and then the state troops countercharge and steal the glory at the last second.

Dave out.

Man I am soooo calling Captain Wolverine Wolfy from now on! Nothing more fun than bating a Welshman.

I need to figure out how to paint Beastmen now. I tried before, and each time I did them, they were a different shade from each other as I had to mix the paints lol. Might have an ungor lying around still that I could practise on.

And Digits are you trying to turn us into a Fantasy site now :P
