Greetings all, I just posted the information for the Siege of Pierefoy online campaign in the Ammoriss Campaign section of the forum. It can be found here: http://s3.zetaboards.com/The_Ammobunker/single/?p=8057515&t=7136218 This mini-campaign is open to anyone who plays a game of 40K or a Specialist Game set in the 40K universe. It also takes place in the Ammobunkers very own Battle for Ammoriss setting. Therefore, I encourage you to take a look. Please use this thread to let me know what you think, if you plan on joining, and any other Siege of Pierefoy related chatter. Thanks for playing. |

I have updated the map to an image instead of an attachment in the thread. Also, remember the deadline for batreps is Sunday at 11:59 pm. The thread for batreps is here: http://s3.zetaboards.com/The_Ammobunker/single/?p=8057520&t=7136223 Edited by Easy E, 14 Mar 2009, 04:12 PM.

Thanks for the comments. I look forward to your batreps. I have posted the Chaos and Imperial narratives for the first week's results. These narratives will adapt and evolve according to the results of the campaign. Currently, there are no ork or xeno narratives since none have shown up to the part yet. However, I look forward to writing some in the future. |

Surely there are people on here who play 40k? If you're involved in Ammoriss why not get contributing battle reports to this, I can't see any reason why they wouldn't also be valid for Ammoriss teams' efforts, so it's points for the team as well as fleshing out Easy's great idea. I'll be joining if me and Mawa play any games while this is going, but I do know he doesn't have much spare time at the minute, so can't make any promises I'm afraid. |

@Death Korp- You needed some fluff for the Apocalypse game, so I'm going to take a shot at it. One thing I noticed is that the Siege of Pierefoy Mini-Campaign will be over by May 3rd (as will the Open Bash) so I'm not sure what the status of the Ammoriss Campaign will be. However, I am more than willing to try and put soemthing together for the Apoc game on Ammoriss. |

Well, this was a big flop. I am open to any feedback you have so I can improve it for next time. Here are a couple things I came up with: 1. Not enough pre-selling. i.e. It kinda started without generating any buy-in from the forumites. I didn't create enough lead time, or solicit ideas from the members. 2. Not clear enough goals for the factions to acheive. I wanted factions to come up with their own goals, but obviously no one did. 3. Bat Reps restricted to ones with pictures. It seemed like this was the only way to ensure true results, but on a board of so few people was it necessary? 4. Too short of turns. 1 week a turn barely gave anyone a chance to play a game. 5. Not strong enough starting narratives to generate interest. If you have any other suggestions to make effective online campaigns in the future to supplement future Tale of... or Ammoriss stuff let me know. |

The main problem was that the Ammoriss campaign has not moved narratively. I know the Xenos faction has been writing its own fluff and pushing a coherent narrative, but there's been no indication that's been taken on board (and in your case where it was you didn't use it correctly as the artifact was our long term aim not something we'd want dealt with quickly). But of your list I think 1) was the key to get buy in. |

Certainly from my own perspective and view, every story I've written for Ammoriss hasn't really focused on the 'war', rather just the build-up to the first major conflicts beginning. Certainly I took to heart what Old Guard said at the beginning of the Ammoriss Challenge, and sought to give the primary architects of the campaign a lot of lee-way in their future efforts, and simply provide enough material that would give them plenty of scope for what they could do; rather than limit them. And that's the way it's been since it began. As Keravin said, it's not moved on narratively, so neither can the fluff that's being contributed. We ourselves certainly can't do anything drastic (landing a 'rok on the space-port for example), and if we can't find the time or opponnents to have games with; then we're sort of stuck. 'Controlling the narrative' is a good idea, but we're hampered by the lack of guidelines, and even more by the fact that we can only score 1 point overall in the Ammoriss competition proper; regardless of how many pieces we contribute. And for many of us in this whole thing, that's all we can do. Very few of us are regular gamers. Promotion, definatly not enough. Pierfroy just seemed like a side-project. Had it been advertised in the monthly newsletter, mods mentioned it in the end-of month round-up for Ammoriss, etc etc. Then I believe that would have helped. At any rate, ramble over. Don't take what I've said as anything aggressive or dismissive of what you've done, it's just that it really didn't register on people's radar unfortunatly. |

Thank you for your feedback. I find it immensely valueable for analyzing what to do differently next time. One other thing I will do differently, is have an example battle report to show what is required of those who want to enter. Again, thanks for the input. Edited by Easy E, 22 Apr 2009, 05:31 PM.
