Great stuff for conversions. Little dissapointed the plama and meltas are the same tired old format. I much prefer the fw ones I think. Worth picking up a box of the catachan stuff too as I prefer some of the bits in that. Can't see the respirators. Will they match the fw ones? |

no vossies shown. I would say that you have what you have and that it is unlikely that they will get further support. both straken and Marbo that we were shown were the existing models. If I remember correctly the troop boxes are squad boxes IE 10 troops and that's it . the loadout for the battalion box was I think command sprue, sentinel, 20 guardsmen and 3 Hvy weapons. If i understood correctly the 'standard' IE existing sprues are not being redone. so we will have boxes of 10 guardsmen, Hvy squad boxes, the command squad boxes. as far as troops are concerned. I would go and get a couple of boxes of the current troops if I were you. ( and I shall) Dave the respirator is component number 58 (below the standard) there are 5. the mask itself looks the same BUT there is a hose going down to a filter on the chest. at a guess you shoud be able to loose that and if you combine it with the head from the Hvy box with the eye protection they should blend in nicely Edited by Old Guard, 15 Feb 2009, 07:46 PM.

Ok, when these come out, think I might start the "Urban Catachans" I was going to start many moons ago. I did notice that the melta gun on the Cadian sprue is different, it has a narrower barrel. Pretty cool looking. |

Are the Tallarn and the Valhallan in the background of that one picture indicative of any release? Or are they the old metal ones? I don't have enough experience with IG to know. |

Haha, I know, right? I wasn't sure if they had very cleverly made the rumored great coat guard so that a simple paint job and hat switch could change them from Russians to Egyptians. Dare to dream! |

Not bad from what i can see, i'll be getting a valk or two thats for sure. Mixed feelings on the new models, not that good to be honest but hey ho. The Commissar with sword and BP is the better of the two, and the psyker looks good, thats it really. |

they're old. the only thing we saw that could hint to future 'other' guard was in the art section where one drawing showed Catachans and valhalans together fighting off nids. BUT i would emphasise that is NOT in any way suggesting that we will see long coat guard. the one 'encouraging' thing with regards to guard as a whole was the 18 month release window IE releasing guard models over the next 18 months and a comment from Robin Cruddace ' and then we'll have to see about the next 18 months' but frankly that could mean absolutely anything. He did also emphasise and was supported in this by JJ and it was in bold letters on the first IG presentation slide that the guard IS the most diverse organisation in the imperium. But again that could mean all things to all people |

begining of May. to be fair I dont recal seing pictures of the cadian medic components being used , actually tell a lie yes I did and I thgought at first that it was the vox op reading a message, so yeah he doesnt have the impact that the Catachan one has. I think both sprues are a must for any guard army builder to achieve some really interesting figures. I think given the skills of many here we will see some great work aided by the material available. |

thanks UG. Cadian lord sorry, what I meant is that we saw a picture of the cadian medic in the presentation, not that there is a picture of it here. There was a mention that images would be going up on the GW website soon so you may see it there. Burnie: what do you mean 'bit disappointed that they didn't follow through with plastic respirators'? component 58 x5 matey there are ressies in the sprue, just not 'respirator heads'. yes Dave it is and very nice it is too. Might have to get that one. . . To put Timmy's little mind at rest, they are a plastic component, therefor will be available individually from about a dozen different sources come the begining of June. I'm willing to bet Mr. Digits will not be too happy. Dave out. |

Depends what they mean by near future OG, we could be waiting until April.... However - those command squad sprues are just pretty... I too shall be amongst the hordes who'll buy 2... and a battleforce. Any news on the price of the new Squad box then? 10 models would suggest £9 quid.... but then again it could also be £12... or if we are stupidly lucky £8 (incase of gretchin). Tepok |

no idea on prices though one thing that did result in a bit of a giggle was the May Wd which of course this early is just a mock up, and in which all prices were £1.25!!!! which wouuld be nice. but no chap I could not say. I seem to recall them saying that it would be during the coming week on the imagery, tough obviously A) I could be wrong. they could be wrong. but its probably worth a look soon
