I promise, from the new IG release you will only see a box of Ratlings and a codex, adventually maybe a Valkyrie or 2 and a shadowsword. As for my FW collection, yep I almost do have a copy of each tank, I definatley have one of each chasis type, how sad |

I am very excited about this. However, my only worry is that everyone will start playing air cav storm troopers and traditional guard will almost disappear, which I would be sad to see. |

I am very exited about this myself really want those Ratlings. I make this my word laid down on the holy resin I own myself, I will only pruchase on the Day of release 1 Codex and 1 to 2 boxes of Ratlings and maybe a Shadowsword (only if I can afford and get the second job I have applied for), I will also not buy any Valkyries or FW until the Ratlings are painted (excluding birthday and Christmas pressie) |

I thought the screamer killer on its way would prevent you from buying the shadowsword? ![]() I'll be sticking to the gud ole massed infantry army myself... with maybe a squad of stormies.... and my usual 3 russes. Tepok |

I agree - The thunderhawk is the only flier that should have armour 12. Seen as it has to survive atmospheric re-entry, the Valkyrie does not. |

Ah, but remember children, the Valk has lost the ability to only be hit on 6s, so AV 12 is actually slightly fair. I still favour the actual flier rules myself, but I can see GW's logic on this one. Dave out. |

*cough*mantahasarmourofatleast12andvoidfields*cough* All seriousness though i can see your point HMD. It does make a bit of sense... And which flyer rules do you like? the Apoc or the IA ones? Edited by Dave38x, 21 Feb 2009, 09:01 AM.

Depends. Imperial armour rules easilly represent an aircraft over a very small field of operations, a high velocity and wide turning circle meaning it can streak over the actual combat zone for a couple of seconds. The interupting nature of planes, while confusing for new players, really does work; and makes sense over smaller boards. The Apocalypse rules, while simpler, do actually work just as well and make sense over larger fields, where there is sufficient space over the combat zone for an aircraft to manouvre without buzzing out. In all, I favour the Imperial Armour rules, if only cos they annoy the foe and really interupt his thinking process. Dave out. |

have to agree there..., they are quite simply far more "visual" than just moving the plane anywhere on the battlefield (moving the aircraft across in a line, firing, moving off in same line)

nevermind. The AI rules for fliers do seem better and more realistic, I have to say. Edited by Shadowphrakt, 22 Feb 2009, 03:41 PM.

Ap3 Hellguns? Wow that's pretty awesome even with only an eighteen inch range that's still going to do some damage. Airbourne stormtroopers here I come!!! |

Keep your fliers...I believe in my guardsmen in the trenches! The valkyrie is an awesome model and I'll probably get one just to have. However, it doesn't fit my army theme at all so I won't be using it anytime soon. Those colossus and medusas though...that's something different. |
